FS: Evo VIII Short Block Spun Bearing

I have an Evo VIII Short Block for sale. Mitsubishi said it has a spun bearing. It has around 52,000 miles on it.

The block is ready for pick up in the Cincinnati area, 45249.

I would like this gone ASAP. PM, Call (203)979-5177 or Email at Stevenms@muohio.edu

Matt

Yes, I would recommend replacing the bearings.

not to be an ***, but if the rod bearing is spun, crank and rods will need to be replaced, because resurfacing will not work, there are no oversized bearings made for these cars. Doesnt matter how long car drove with bearing spun, mines spun at idle and its shot. Block itself should be fine, but you deff looking into complete overhoul. Goodluck with sale.

Actually, there are oversized bearings made for these cars and you can turn the crank and re-use it if you aren't going for over 500whp or 400wtq (IMO). There are several vendors on here that use turned cranks in there engines and will sell you the bearings to go with it. I agree, if the rod bearing has spun you SHOULD probably replace the rods especially if they are stock. I myself would never knowingly buy, or sell an engine with a turned crank but it can be done with off the shelf parts and a good machine shop.
