FS (NC): AMS Race Balance shaft

Sold!!!

I have an AMS Race Balance shaft for sale that was pulled from a motor out of a wrecked car. I don't know how many miles are on it, it looks perfect. For those that don't know this is for doing a balance shaft eliminator and still having the oil pump support from the front shaft. I'm told this is often a good idea when using higher tension valve springs with higher lift cams or aftermarket timing belt or both. I'm asking $100 for the shaft.

Josh

i thought it was good for built motor personally since you building it might as well do it. Doesnt all BS Elim kits the same meaning once installed you will not need a serpintine belt(balance belt some people call it)

Not all of them are the same. Some of them are just stub shafts which can allow or play and future issues with the oil pump. The longer shaft is the better option, but usually you see 0 issues with the stub shaft too. It is cheaper and unless you are really beating on the motor, it is likely there will be no issues.

Buschur Stub shaft (Like Mitsu)

AMS Full balance shaft

Sorry to clutter your thread. Free bump for you.

No. You still need to run the serpentine belt. That belt is what runs the water pump, power steering, etc. Read and check out these images for a better understanding:

Again, sorry OP.

$100 is shipped and paypal'd

You will no longer be need to run the smaller and shorter balance shaft belt that would normally be behind the timing belt. The oil pump is driven off of the timing belt. The "serpentine belt" is the belt that runs your accessories such as power steering, A/C, and Alternator. It is outside the timing cover and can be seen on the left side of your engine while it is installed and running. The timing belt "should" be under the covers on the left side of your engine and the balance shaft belt is behind that but only on the lower portion of the engine where the front case is located. Let me know if you have any more questions. I've torn down 4 engines in the past month and a half and so far I've found two of these shafts installed! Lucky me! Both engines where running fine and came out of wrecked cars.
