free bump i opted for the oliver i-beam rods when i stroked to 2.3 After reading dozens and dozens of reviews and articles on every rod out there, I found one article that included pics of an engine that had suffered detonation. the all the rods were BENT, not cracked. they are so strong that under the greatest of abuse, they will never sheer. well, maybe under 1500hp, but for the street/track, the oliver rods will never break.
oh yeah, they are hard to find these days. AMS had two sets, and I got both. the first set had a burr, and were sent back to AMS, and I got the last set. I don't think they show up on their website.
