FS: Built Aluminum Rod 2.0 Long Block
So since my GSR drag shell sold, I no longer need this engine. I'm tempted to throw it in my Galant, but I've got a 2.4 in it and it makes plenty of power for a grocery getter.
Pics:
Block VIN is JA3AH86FX3U091457 As this is a block out of an '03, there is no easily readable sticker. The numbers are imprinted on the block and extremely hard to photograph with a cell phone camera. VIN is clean, no theft. VIN does have salvage associated with it.
Specs:
EVO 4G63 Block punched .020 over with O Rung Deck
New OEM 2.0L Crank
GRP Aluminum Rods
ACL Race Series Bearings std/std
CP 9:1 Pistons
ARP Main Studs
ARP L19 Headstuds
New OEM Oil Pump
Balance Shaft Delete Kit
New Hydraulic Tensioner
EVO IX Headgasket
Headgames Ported Cylinder Head - BC Springs / Retainers
BC 280 Cams
Stock Intake Manifold
HKS Kevlar Timing Belt
Modified Oil Pan - 7 Qt Capacity
Custom Oil Pickup to work with custom pan
Here is the history of this engine as I know it. This engine came out of a car I purchased. The engine ran fine but on removal of the stock oil pan we found some bearing material in it. The engine got fully disassembled and was sent to Justice Racing Engines for inspection. The crank was determined to damaged enough that it would need to be cut. I don't cut cranks. The crank was trashed and a new one was purchased. Justice inspected the aluminum rods for strech, cleaned the block up, resurfaced it, re cut the O rings, balanced the rotating assembly, set bearing clearances and file fit the rings. They also inspected the pistons and the pistons were given the OK to be reused with new rings.
The engine had a cylinder head that has been ported by Dave @ Headgames. It doesn't include his typical Ferrera valve train, but has BC springs and retainers. The head was disassembled, cleaned, resurfaced and put back together. The final engine assembly was performed by myself. New oil pump, new tensioner, good used water pump, etc. etc. I was going to put this engine in my drag shell but since I've now sold the shell without it, it's time to sell this guy.
There are a ton of high quality parts in this engine. It's designed to spin high. You can take this puppy to 10K RPMs +.
I'm looking for $5,850 for this engine. I'm firm on the price. Here's a break down of what this thing is worth:
$1,350 - Machining
$950 - OEM Crank
$120 - Bearings
$280 - Oil Pump
$110 - Tensioner
$550 - GRP Rods
$575 - CP Pistons
$1,800 - Headgames head
$450 - BC Cams
$1,000 - Block
$350 - Custom oil pan + Pickup
$180 - HKS Timing Belt
$240 - ARP L19 Head Studs
$65 - ARP Main Studs
That totals out to $8,020 and doesn't include valve cover, intake manifold, brackets, sprockets, cam gears, gaskets, or labor to assemble etc.
This engine is ready to go. It was primed with oil before the timing belt was put on.
Local pickup preferred but I can ship at your cost.

Obviously they checked out perfectly or I would not have reused them! The rods and pistons in this motor are used. I reused them for three simple reasons. First and most importantly they were given a clean bill of health by Justice Racing Engines, a very reputable machine shop that almost exclusively works with aftermarket parts. Secondly I know they were lightly used. The motor they came out of had less than a thousand miles on it and only a few drag passes. Lastly, they came out of the same block. This bottom end was rebuilt with a new crank, bearings and rings. The motor ended up having a problem with the bearings because of a contaminated oil cooler that the owner never replaced which chewed up the original bearings and crank.
