PPG Dogbox
This is a PPG gearset and is the Group N gearing that is 3.00, 2.00, 1.47, 1.11, and .857 (all five forward gears are dog engagement) and comes with the straight cut 4.307 final drive. This is in my original low mileage 2003 case (under 5000mi) and when it was installed, every bearing inside was replaced. It has approximately 20 drag passes on it and less than 1000mi of street driving. I am also the only person that every drove the car when it was in the car, so I know exactly how it was driven. When I stopped running the car at the track, I had put the car on blocks for almost 4-years due to personal reasons. During this time I had to really think what I was going to do with the car and I decided that my drag racing days were over and I was going to go after my true passion and convert the caro ver for autocross. Needless to say from that point I had to completely rethink the car and this is one part of many that was no longer needed. I used Redline shockproof when I stored it as I know that oil likes to stick to things. Needless to say when I just took the case apart on 8/9/14 for the first time and it was still clinging to every gear and was tough to get clean so that I could confirm the gearing and snap some pictures.
As part of the price, I will include it being sent to TRE to be gone over. If it needs anything I will have it taken care of. Once Jon gives it a clean bill of health... then it will be shipped to you directly from TRE. This is for one simple reason: I want the purchaser to know that it is perfect from the start as this is an investment.
That leads to price. I was looking to get $8000 plus shipping from TRE to you. I have more pictures if you are serious. I also have a listing for a Carbonetics triple disc clutch.... I am absolutely willing to make a killer deal if they go together.
10/18/14 UPDATE: Just looking to find it a new home, dropping the price to $6500 and keeping the same deal on my end.
