2.1LR Garrett 3794R GSC S3 Magnus V5 93 & E70

This car came in for a standard dual map tune and visual inspection and leak test. The vehicle was in very bad shape drive ability wise. It would misfire and bog cruising and stall at every stop. I was almost certain it had a bad ignition. To my surprise it was just tune related.

After adjusting the tune and getting the car to drive nice, we ran into another issue. The car was having fueling issues. Upon inspecting everything, we noticed prior the Full blown had both pumps set to run at the same time. This in turn burned up one of the previous hard wire jobs performed on the car, so the vehicle was only running off the primary pump.

I decided to install a Walbro 400 high pressure pump into the full blown to replace the existing walbro 255 as primary. I then rewired and fixed wiring on the vehicle. I also built and installed a new pressure switch system for the vehicle to kick the 2nd pump on the system at around 10psi.

After fixing the fueling issue we tuned the vehicle trouble free. During the entire tuning session I was noticing puffs of smoke random and once car was at full temp it would smoke non stop out of the tail pipe.

After the tune me and the owner agreed it was best to perform a compression test and a leak down test. Compression test showing numbers in line and reasonable, while the leak down test showed we had a hurt cylinder! Once I get my new shop we will be taking this car back into possession and seeing what the cause of the leak down test failure is & refreshing the engine. It may only just be leaky valve seals.

Id like to note this cars setup worked amazing, and power was extracted very easily. Definitely to much for street use in my opinion, but extremely fast on the top end non the less.

A lot of the fuel mods it has are a little overkill, but at the end of the day we were able to work with it and extract good power.

Good results, it has more in it though on e70, and try a different dialing of cams with more emphasis on the low end part of the powerband.

I run a 4094r style and size turbo, billet dbb, not a garrett, with a Q trim turbine wheel which is a bit bigger than the conventional 4094r one, compressor is also a bit bigger on the inducer, and although I have not dynoed the car my experience tells me I'm around 660-670 at least at the wheels on a low reader mustang dyno on 98+ ron pump gas, which translates to 820hp+ at the fly.

The car/setup is awesome on the road!

Needs a bigger TB and exhaust. Would be cool to see on a real dyno so we can see what it makes out to 9k+

Good results though Tom.

Car felt like about a 150 1/4 trap speed. Much faster then you think in reality. The top end is where it came alive, and the evoscan cut the results off at 7968RPM. Just wanted to share the setup because its nice that's all.

Car also has a full cutout in the exhaust, so there's no restrictions in the exhaust.
