Thinking about doing this. I deleted PS altogether on a lot of street cars. I didn't mind it until I went with a smaller steering wheel. Civic was no big deal, but the Toyota All-Trac sucked.

I don't see how you could lose HP. I'd imagine with the pump out of the rotation you'd gain 1-2 HP, but I'm excited about losing the bracket for looks and servicing the T-Belt.

Ofcourse, but the loss of fluid friction in this case is beyond that of the extra electricity I need.

Keep in mind that the pump at high RPM is putting out an excess of pressure and flow. It's constantly wasting energy and more energy at higher RPM. You also have less friction on the drive belt due to one less pulley (provided you also eliminate the water pump so you don't need an idle pulley for belt routing).

On the other hand, you also have to deal with the efficiency of the alternator and pump along with electrical losses associated with 50A of current.

2nd trackday on this thing now, what a dream.

Even with the custom brackets it was all worth it.

Runs cooler than stock with no bull**** cooler

Also one more thing out of the way when doing timing belts and such.

And the reason why it won't work with the oem water pump without reusing this bracket is that if you put the accesory belt around the alternator and crank pulley it will miss the water pump, and if you put the belt over the water pump it will spin backwards. So this was the only solution I found that was fairly easy to do and required little trimming.

Belt used was a master pro K060523 which is 52 7/8 long. It works well but I will have to verify that the tensioner lines up properly.

What if you just bought a PS delete kit with the pullie and belt?

We need to take a look at doing this, cause my pump or pulley is making noise anyway.

Word. This is looking more and more appealing. Anything to make working on these pigs easier is a bonus lol
