Yeah I gotta be around hippies at least once a week or I run out of material
Guys I really want to come, not a cop out, just have a tranny leak from what I'm pretty sure is an axle seal. If I come out I'm going to want to run and I don't think it would be a good idea. I'm currently house sitting or a friend right now so I'm just gonna kick it with a movie in Austin. Good luck to everyone and let me know how it all goes.

Josh

edit: anyone using their handbrake for launching?

Meh, our south region section is soo boring... We need more random fun threads about everyday texas stuff .

Has anyone been to the shifter kart place by the airport? I saw it while flying out of Austin and it looks pretty cool. Who's in for some kart racing?

Ben,

Several of the S2k guys have been multiple times and said it is really good.

Not sure on the pricing though.

I'll ask them at the GTG at ski shores.

Can we rent carts? I don't have a shifter cart but I will get on anything with a motor!

BTW, are any of you into dirtbikes? I have a KTM 300 and I'm always looking for riding buddies. We go up to a place in Salado called Central Texas Off Road.

I'd be in for some cart racing. Maybe we could get Derek Easty, current points leader in the national carting circuit, to join us and give some pointers. He is racing this weekend in Alabama, but will be off for two months.

Hello, Sophic.

Ben, I'm pretty sure you are correct, but not sure on costs.

I'll also ask Stefan at the Ski Shores meet about any hook-ups he has over there.

RaceBiscuit,

I know there a couple of DE events coming up in Sept/Oct that I am sure some of the locals will attend.

You may also want to check out DEVO330's thread about a Rally @ Motor Sport Ranch. That will probably be the next opportunity for a track event with the Evo group. The DFW folks are a great bunch. They drove all the way down here for a drive several weeks back and we had a great time.

My office is right next to those guys(or close enough for me to see and hear them anyway), they are pretty quick carts. I think the cost is some where in the neighborhood of $30 for 15 minutes.

Unfortunately, I don't know any of the Evo folks that go. I haven't been as active with the local Evo owners as I was with the 350Z owners when I had my Z. I am trying to change that. That's why I am putting together the meet tomorrow night.

However, I do know a few of the instructors and they say that there are almost always a few Evos out there at the events. I can definitely recommend an instructor for you if you go.
