Topspeed Tune Fellow Texans?
Hey guys,
I had the chance to talk to doug from topspeed in atlanta, georgia and he let me know that he will fly down to houston, tx to tune people as long as we can get 5 or more cars to come. I already have 3 people willing to go and get tuned anybody here interested? He's a very well known tuner in the east coast and has done pretty good tunes for a lot of my buddies.
If you have any more questions please don't hesitate to pm and I'll answer any questions you have.

where are all you guys out of? i can certainly help you guys out with tunes, and i would imagine my rates are better then anyone else for a custom tune... sense i'm working out of DFW, if there were a few of you in houston or austin i could do a road trip so weekend...

do you tune turboxs UTEC and how much experience do you have with that EM? Doug from atlanta also has pretty decent rates. And he already tuned me before so I would like him to touch my car since he already knows the settings. But I have heard good things about you Kevin.

No, I certainly am not. How much are your rates if I went up to DFW? And how much is it for a tuning session if you come down to austin or san antonio. All I would need is to get the new firmware software installed on my UTEC and just a retune of my high boost setting. b/c I have four maps tune at the moment... low boost, high boost, and 2 race gas maps.

200 is my going rate for a full wideband tune. i have a portable system i made which i will hook up to your car. nice thing about the UTEC is you can easily switch between maps what pressure is your high boost setting? and is that on pump, or are you spraying meth/water/ethanol? sense you have two other race gas tunes i would assume the high boost is for pump only...
and for me to travel i would need to at least recooperate some of my travel expenses. so if i could get a couple cars to tune in one trip it would be worth it for me to drive down there.

i'll do all the maps you want once i have my equipment on your car and we are tuning, switching between high and low and tuning the two is'nt a big deal. the race gas tune just make sure you have race gas and a nearly empty tank when we do it and i can do that as well.
and your high boost setting is only 20 psi tapering to 15? what boost do you run with the race gas? and are you using the UTEC to control the boost? or do you have a MBC or EBC? (sense it is not on your list, i would assume your using the UTEC)

Kevin, I am in Killeen which is right above Austin. I dont have a wideband but I read that you have a portable system that you use. Im running off EvoScan and ECUFlash. I need a tune asap but i dont have anytime to really get one done. How soon do you think you'll be able to come down

Tuning
Kevin I live in Austin and would be willing to pay to have you come down to tune. I just bought a VIII in Houston from a dealership. The guy traded it in with a full exhaust and hi flow cat but he removed some stuff from it, what I'm not sure, I just know he had spliced into some ECU wiring, has a hole in the firewall, has a T off the wastegate actuator (haven't traced the extra line to see where it's going), and also a hole in the glovebox like he had something mounted. I'm not sure if this guy had it flashed to match his mods or what. It seems to run as good as the two stock evo's I've driven but I would guess it should be running a bit better. Do I need to get it flashed before the tune or can you do all that?

i can overwrite whatever flash is on it if there is one. also, i can bring tools and extra parts just in case you may need something. i can take a look at the ecu wiring as well, but as long as it is all back to normal it is nothing to worry about.
