the problem is that the way the 8 and 9 fenders are made makes cracks in the paint happen a lot more. and tim does paint work on cars a lot more expensive than ours every day (porsche)

What should, shouldn't and then actually does happen varies lots with paint work. I have been painting on cars for 17 yrs now and that is my experience. Rolling can for sure be done with out painting. Unless the roller slips, or you set it a bit too agressive for the next roll, or the metal just doesnt want to flex although you have heated it. I hope it works out well for you and you do not need any paint after rolling. Less work is always better. Good luck on it and let me know if you have any questions on how I did mine.

The paint that cracked on rear of mine you can't even see unless you look inside the wheel well. Mostly why I haven't fixed it yet.

I trimmed mine, it worked very well and took less than an hour to complete.
