You could just have Kevin do the install, I'm just giving you my opinion and to be honest your wasting your money on the S1's.

There have been some pretty good results with the GSC S1 cams. They are not as popular these days with such results that the 272-variants are now making. Many swear by the Kelford TX272 and how they've complimented many builds speak for themselves. But they are not the end-all, be-all for EVO cams. There are two basic questions that must be answered: (1) What is the use of the car (i.e. - autox, drag, street)? And (2) Is a larger turbo anywhere in the future? The GSC S2s have proven to be right on par with the Kelfords in every aspect.

If you have any goals of getting a larger turbo and enjoying a higher RPM shift point with the 2.0L, then getting springs/retainers would be in your best interest. It'll be a shame to leave power on the table having to shift @ roughly 7200-7600 when you could easily enjoy the 8500-9000 RPM range at a regular. I'm willing to bet that Kevin can have your head off with everything installed and back up running in less than an hour. It's really not that intensive plus you get an added peace of mind.

I'm interested in reading about guys having rust in their gas tanks from using E85.

Levar you are right but results never lie the kelfords made more power even though it wasn't a drastic difference. Every few High rpm power counts though. I've seen ppl happy with the s2's also though. I gained a massive amount of torque with my cams and couldn't be happier. I'm just tellin him he should definitely steer clear from s1's

I will try and find the threads about the rust for you.

REASON why I am now doing the S1's, is because we are going to fix some of the stuff here at the house i live in, so that I can rent a bigger three bedroom house due to my daughter not having her own room. That is why.

Very true. With what's available to the community these days, the S1s are fading in the distance.

Thanks for the threads ahead of time. If you are going to work on the house, don't even bother with the S1s right now since it seems like you'll be upgrading in the future. The proper mind set is to do things right - THE FIRST TIME.

Yeah true. I already paid for them, and it is what it is I guess lol. I wont be doing any harm, and hell at least I pull a little extra power. I am sure I will be satisfied with them, considering I love how my car feels now. I even got great deals on all the stuff I bought today. Next mod for tomorrow is 3 interior doors and a door knob lol.

Trust me you are wasting your money and will be disapointed, if I was you I would vall and tell them you want the S2's. The S1's arent really that much different from stock, you will be happy but the power will not be there. You have a IX so you can make much more than and VIII adjusting the MIVEC. In the end its your money..........

6009S1 ADV Duration Duration @ 1mm Peak Lift CenterLine
Intake 268 216 11.00mm 130
Exhaust 268 220 10.50mm 113

6009S2 ADV Duration Duration @ 1mm Peak Lift CenterLine
Intake 274 230 11.20mm 130
Exhaust 274 230 11.00mm 113

Not to mention they are both the same price and MAP will give you a major discount cause you are in the military.

I got of the phone with Michael at ets earlier and after I get my twin disk I'm gonna end up buying an ets 4 inch fmic. I just don't see it cost effective to buy the buschur then have to pay an extra 300 for the licp and possibly more for their uicp.
