I guess I should go. Just got my car back from the SOA reflash. The engine no longer pings and it feels smoother. Do I need to schedule with them?

Well, since the MZM portion of this thread seems to have ended, I would like to know:

The school was good, I definitely think it helped out. I shaved almost 2 seconds off my baseline times by the end of the day... 36.1 seconds to 34.4 seconds. That's about a 6-7% improvement. It was also good to get some more instruction about "looking ahead." All the AutoXers tell you to do it, but at the school they teach you how far to look, what to look for, etc.

I actually used some of the looking ahead and slalom skills at RPM Indoor Raceway kart track tonight. I wound up with the fastest time of my group of friends, which is good since I consider a few of them better drivers than me.

I guess the ultimate test will be at Sunday's special event and at the upcoming Dell Diamond events. It'll be interesting to see if I can move my RAW and PAX times more towards the top of the table. Right now I'm pretty consistently finishing at about mid-pack.

Demand is supposed to be pretty high for the Austin schools. I'd recommend keeping in touch with Andy Hollis about it. Or just go to one of the schools in DFW or Houston. They always use the same course for Phase 1, so the only variation you're should get is in the instructor.

The Dell Diamond events are with the Spokes AutoX club.

www.spokes.org

The event in November will be open to the public. Both october events are members only.

The Evolution school is instructed by a Spokes member, but isn't affiliated with Spokes in any way to my knowledge.
