Good tint shop in Austin?

Hello -- well, after 3 years in Austin I guess it's time to get my windows tinted. Does anyone have a recommendation for a high-end tint shop? Also, what brands of tint do people recommend? The last time I checked 3M non-metallic was being recommended...?

Thanks,
RedAustinIX

I went to Sun Tint which is next to First Texas Honda on 2222. They did a pretty good job, although I felt like their selection of tints were not the greatest. Searching on Google, it had the most reviews and it was rated pretty good. I was also recommended by MZM to go there, if I remember correctly.

I got the SunTek Carbon Series window tint, 35% front, 18% rears/rear windshield. That one isn't supposed to fade, and it's non metallic.

Sun tint did my Volvo and their work was great. As others have stated, their selection is sparse, so I ended up with Mothers on the Evo (I wanted a slight silver tint to match the paint). Mothers was just fine.

I had mine done by Sunbusters, but thats because the dealership paid for most of it when my negotiator (the wife) threatened a walk out on the car purchase if they didnt throw it in (along with the mudflaps).

They did a nice job on the install, and Im happy with the tint. It was Formula1 Pinnacle 35% ceramic I think.

Sunbusters +1! They used to be the best and I had 2 cars done with extremely good results. Just googled it and they're the choice for the Lexus and M3 forum guys too. If you're picky about your tint, I think they're the only ones who can get it right, meaning no white lines around your tint, anywhere. Most tint places for some reason leave a .5 mm gap that's really annoying.

I've had 3 of my friends cars done at Tint Specialists, they charge 150 and are willing to work with you in regards to what you want done. They offer lifetime warranty and use non-metallic tint and it's good quality.
