Texas Auto Liquidators = MAYJOR RIPOFF!

I wanted to post this because I have had several people ask me about cars from this particular dealer.

Texas Auto Liquidators advertises that they sell high end exotic vehicles:

"We started out as a traditional brick and mortar car dealership specializing in high end and exotic vehicles."

Well that is a true statement, however the quality of the vehicles is far from perfect. They lie about the condition of the vehicles considerably, and sell them over the internet for top dollar. The current rip off is a 2006 evo 9.

The description:

"2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX AWD Recaro Edition!! Powered by a High Output 2.0 Liter DOHC 4 Cylinder Turbo engine coupled with a responsive 5 speed manual transmission, and patented mitsubishi all wheel drive system..This car is in super shape, Wow!! This gorgeous pre-owned Evo was a 1 owner vehicle. It's apparent it was well taken car of by its appearance, and the way it drives. This car drives fantastic! The engine is quick and responsive. It's loaded, and all the features are in working order. This is a very very nice pre-owned Lancer. Besides that its packed with features! Such as: Sport full leather Recaro seating. Premium Infinity sound system with cd player. Power windows, power locks, power mirrors, power sliding sunroof, ice cold AC, rear spoiler, sport alloy wheels, and much much more. Buy with confidence this is an extremely fast car. Do not forget and Please call Lynn @ 817-907-5170, Scott @ 817-404-6501, Greg @ 972-310-4734 with any questions...."

I had a guy call me from out of state and asked if I would look at the car for him. I did, and determined this car is in terrible shape:

It has been backed into, the grill is smashed and the hood is bent in and bowed up in the middle, and there is a DEEP ding in the passenger rear door trim just below the window that I think if the window was rolled down it would scratch the glass.
The front bumper is ripped
The passenger side is full of dents and dings.
The exhaust manifold has visible cracks in it
The Gauges have a terrible custom chrome and black overlay paying tribute to I think a Puerto Rican baseball player
The center console and radio surround is painted with bedliner paint and chipping
The trunk interior is TRASHED
and last but not least it wouldn't start the day I went and looked at it. The battery was completely dead!

This is not someone you want to work with unless you are getting screwed, and plan on putting a lot work into the car. I would hate for any "new" evo owner to buy a car from these people and get their first evo in this kindof shape.

If you google this dealer, you will get more reviews that back me up:

visit www.txcars.info for the complete story. They screwed me so badly, I had to make a whole site to detail it. Share on Facebook

This dealership is a total SCAM. Please avoid at all costs. He takes your deposit and when you find that he has lied about the condition of the vehicle he keeps the deposit. ...

Recaro Edition!!

On the upside, even though it's a bit beat up, IF it is in good mechanical condition (replacing a cracked manifold isn't that big of a deal), and you can haggle good, it might beon ok deal.

A good running Evo 9 for say.. $17K isn't that bad even if it needs some help. Again, assuming the engine, transfer case, clutch, and tranny are all good. That would all need to be verified. Body work and ugly gauges can be dealt with.
