What???? That's jacked up. I would go up there with you to drop the ride off myself but it's about a month early for me. I need to call Dan & make arrangements to drop it off maybe the first or second weekend of July.

Oh well. Such is life. Back before all of the rod going thru the block fun I was planning on buying some new tires as the back ones were about gone. Then came the other $8000 or so in expenses to get the vehicle to its present state so I basically forgot about the tires. Unfortunately the tread did not grow back in the ensuing 8 months the car was down. So, whoopee!, I get to spend even more money!

Well David at least it lets you know that you're indeed alive! I'd recommend the Nitto NT05s from Discount Tire.com. Since you are on stock sizes, I'm sure they're pretty inexpensive for a set. I know even for my 18s they're like $165/piece I believe. Near r-compound stickiness with good prices.

I just bought Sumitomo HTR Z III's. They've gotten good reviews, and the HTR+'s that came on the car are pretty good, just need new ones now. $94/ea. for 235/45ZR17s, and great reviews for a Max Performance Summer!

Edit: cancelled the order due to need of a new tire today (Flat tire this am). Bought Potenza RE760's from Firestone. Great deal on them, and reviews don't look too bad on TireRack. I'll open a new thread on these in the proper forum.

What: Columbia SC Meeting
When: JUNE 20, 2009
Where: Columbia

****TIMES/EVENTS MAY CHANGE****

-1 pm(ish) Meet up @ I-20 Exit 80, Clemson Rd., 76 Gas station---if coming from Charleston, take I77 N. to I20 E. If coming from the Beach (Most people take the interstate, I always take the back road 378 so....) take I95 S to I20 W. Upstate would either be I126 E to I20 E, or I77 S to I20 E.

**I figure this is the most central location for those that said they'd come from out of town and where they're coming from. All of you local guys, I hope you don't mind driving a bit if you happen to be across town or something. It just seemed like a good point where all the interstates converge. If you need to fill up again you can. Us E users, there's another place we can go after if you should need some.

1sh - 4--get everybody together, travel to my house to wash/clean off your cars. I can provide the water, (FREE!!! LOL!) but you will have to bring your own car wash product of choice & detail stuff if you so choose. Shouldn't take that long. We'll be passing by a bunch of places to eat lunch at that time. I'd recommend RED ROBIN, but if that's not up for everyone we can do Wild Wing Cafe, or something else doesn't matter. Let me know.

4-6We can head out to the lake then for pics, or if you're not feeling that we can head down to the Vista where some of the old warehouses are for some really nice looking spots I think. When I was down there last Friday, there wasn't a whole lot of traffic either. Up to you guys, just throwing that out there. The lake costs to get in. I don't know how much it is now, somebody else may know. The Vista spots, or pretty much anywhere else, is free. Pics can be skipped too. If so, we can just hang out at Sandhills....even catch a movie....whatever.

6-11 Darlington. Well maybe not that whole time, but I say 6 because it takes about an hour to drive there from Columbia and it starts at 7. I recommend getting there early before all the big block boys start running because that's when it all slows down. You don't have to race, but you can take pics and record some of the action. There probably will be a wait. There always was in the past. But who knows? If we don't get the amount of runs in, this time block can be changed dramatically.

**If you head back to Columbia at that point, there's always the Vista going on, the "car enthusiasts" usually head out to Harbison Blvd, bars, etc. Let me know if you need any directions to anything, suggestions, etc. Once again, I'm only throwing all this out there with approximate times, 'cause things always change. Post up your thoughts. I'll pm everyone on the list my number when it gets a little closer.

Sure rub it in why don'tcha!! At least we woulda been able to count you in.

Unfortunately, planning meet ups in the summer months will always run into things like this. You and Steve have wedding dealings going on that weekend. Scott will be on the road...and even that Monday afterward, I'll be at the beach. Summertime.

Man if I weren't traveling I'd be in, but I'm leaving out the 19th at lunch time.

Does anyone know where I can get my wing fixed in columbia? I would be willing to drive if I had to, even to Greenville. Its starting to peel so I took it off so it would not get worse.

Scott told me it was a pain to do yourself because it's so hard to get all of the remaining clear coat off especially in the hard to reach places. I believe he did it himself so maybe he can offer you some pointers on exactly what to do.

I was going to ship it to Ultimate CC but I cannot find a box to put it in to ship it.

You may have to find a box from a shipping place or something. That would be an unusual box. Or take a big box and cut it to fit on the wing, tape it up really good...Ultimate will fix the wing?

all you have to do is sand it with 320 grit, clean it, and spray it. very simple to do actually

I'm worried about sanding too far and messing up the carbon fiber. Any reason to do the bottom of the wing if I chose to do it myself?
