no reason too. I actually sanded the top of the wing, taped off the rest (sides, and the bottom of the wing) and painted the top of the with the same as the car. It looked good, and made my car slightly different from the thousands of other apex silver evo's arround.

That's exactly what I thought, which was why I was surprised when Scott told me he ran into issues. It always seemed simple enough.

Mine had been recleared before I got the car and it had mass layers of clear, so I had to wind up using 220. Not hard at all, but don't plan on doing this by hand if you know your wing has been recleared, better have some air and a DA.

You won't mess it up man, go til you don't see a white dust, and you start seeing black dust. That's when you know you have reached the carbon fiber, then just move on to another area. And just like fiberglass, don't stay in one spot too long and heat it up.

I didn't do my bottom, no use, just back tape it and you should be fine.

It was a pain in the **** if I would have kept on sanding by hand. I broke out the DA and did the whole top side, and as much as I could of the lower inner parts of the wing. Then I eventually had to hand sand the inner parts and the areas that I didn't want to burn up with the DA on the top near the corners.

Wet sanded that bad boy with some 600, 1000, then 1200 grit. Got a friend to prep it and shoot some clear on, maaan, it looks like a whole new car now, lol.

Man, Scott, I love your work ethic & thoroughness! Make sure you have all this ready when I need to do mine. I've been able to save it again by keeping the car out of direct sunlight & waxing the hizzy out of it.

What: Columbia SC Meeting
When: JUNE 20, 2009
Where: Columbia

****TIMES/EVENTS MAY CHANGE****

-1 pm(ish) Meet up @ I-20 Exit 80, Clemson Rd., 76 Gas station---if coming from Charleston, take I77 N. to I20 E. If coming from the Beach (Most people take the interstate, I always take the back road 378 so....) take I95 S to I20 W. Upstate would either be I126 E to I20 E, or I77 S to I20 E.

**I figure this is the most central location for those that said they'd come from out of town and where they're coming from. All of you local guys, I hope you don't mind driving a bit if you happen to be across town or something. It just seemed like a good point where all the interstates converge. If you need to fill up again you can. Us E users, there's another place we can go after if you should need some.

1sh - 4--get everybody together, travel to my house to wash/clean off your cars. I can provide the water, (FREE!!! LOL!) but you will have to bring your own car wash product of choice & detail stuff if you so choose. Shouldn't take that long. We'll be passing by a bunch of places to eat lunch at that time. I'd recommend RED ROBIN, but if that's not up for everyone we can do Wild Wing Cafe, or something else doesn't matter. Let me know.

4-6We can head out to the lake then for pics, or if you're not feeling that we can head down to the Vista where some of the old warehouses are for some really nice looking spots I think. When I was down there last Friday, there wasn't a whole lot of traffic either. Up to you guys, just throwing that out there. The lake costs to get in. I don't know how much it is now, somebody else may know. The Vista spots, or pretty much anywhere else, is free. Pics can be skipped too. If so, we can just hang out at Sandhills....even catch a movie....whatever.

6-11 Darlington. Well maybe not that whole time, but I say 6 because it takes about an hour to drive there from Columbia and it starts at 7. I recommend getting there early before all the big block boys start running because that's when it all slows down. You don't have to race, but you can take pics and record some of the action. There probably will be a wait. There always was in the past. But who knows? If we don't get the amount of runs in, this time block can be changed dramatically.

**If you head back to Columbia at that point, there's always the Vista going on, the "car enthusiasts" usually head out to Harbison Blvd, bars, etc. Let me know if you need any directions to anything, suggestions, etc. Once again, I'm only throwing all this out there with approximate times, 'cause things always change. Post up your thoughts. I'll pm everyone on the list my number when it gets a little closer.

Went to Fayetteville dragway yesterday even though it was ridiculously hot...ran a 12.2 @ 112 with a 1.71 60 ft...i had my best 60 ft which was a 1.67 and my best 1/8 which was a 7.8...my car seemed to be struggling from the 1/8 to the 1/4 so i need to figure that out...I ran this time on stock intake mani., stock TB, completely stock motor, stock turbo, 93 oct.

I'd wager your car was struggling because the stock fmic was done. It is stock right? It's time you put that BR race on there. I figure you'd probably run high 11s even untuned. Just putting it on with tune untouched for Coheterojo netted him 20 or 30 horses, I can't remember exactly now. In the dead heat of summer.
