I had an 03 Cobra a few years ago, but it wasn't a great car to have as a daily driver. I considered trying to pick up a Cobra and a DD, but have decided against it.

The GT500's are pretty bullet proof too and I love that blower whine. The only thing that I've seen could be an issue with the new 5.0's is the tranny being weak. It's only rated for like 375 hp or something lol I don't think it would ever be an issue for someone like me that doesn't race the car, but something to consider. The only other thing that I'm not sold on yet on the 5.0's is the sound. They don't have that typical Ford V8 sound I think these are the best sounding exhausts that I've heard yet for the 5.0

Speed tech exhaust sounds good on that 5.0....Daniel, did you see Buschur's thread on the 5.0?....made 340whp on his dyno...stock....not too bad...

BTW got the estimate back. 5800 bucks worth of damage but not really any wiggle room for aftermarket replacements. They are going to repair the trunk instead of replacing it, replacing the right side of the tailights only, etc. I probably could have gotten ralliart taillights and paid the difference but I could potentially get more than the 80 bucks i'd save selling the red ones as a set. I'm going to call tonight and see about the diminished value check. Seems like 10-33% of the cars value is up for grabs which means 2500-8250 could be coming my way. I'll have to wait and see. Could be more since my car should be worth more than 25k with the SSS package, aero package, accessories, etc. Since i'm not getting anything out of the repairs I'll be going after them on the diminished value.

 

nice, always fun dealing with insurance adjusters. I used to be a technician for Haddock collisions and wrote all the repair estimates for mechanical things for the adjusters. They all are idiots and dont know what they are talking about. Hope it turns out well for you and you can pocket some money. Luckily enough i have a very good friend who owns a body shop outside of fuquay if anybody ever needs any help again

They initially took my car to Haddock because I couldn't remember MiniCity which is where I wound up (its also where leith goes to for their bodywork repairs). I'm pulling kbb, edmunds, etc reports of the value pre-accident.
