Raleigh/Durham/Triangle Area Meet

yup! .... def miss the sun!
on a side note, I went to the track tonight.... long story short, my previous best run had been 11.8@122mph with 1.7 60 ft..... however, tonight... my single pos act clutch decided to warp and drag even though the pedal is all the way in and adjusted so I couldn't feather launch her well, but I was able to pull an 11.9@130mph with 2.0 60 ft.
I may pull out the motor and swap the clutch and yank off the abs while at it!

Well … it depends on how we look at it. From a WOT and power perspective, yes the stock ECU maps can do the job just fine…..especially with Tephra’s big maps. However, to dial in the drivability features such as idle control, fuel shut off, tip in filtering…etc I don’t think our ecu is fully defined to give us the control over these.
Not to mention, the ability to flash on the fly without power latching the module and be able to collect the data at a faster rate is advantages as well. Controlling my second fuel pump based on load or rpm is also nice. This way I could free up the voltage and only use it when needed.
It’s more on my wish list for now until I figure out the differences between all of these aftermarket ecu’s and their capabilities. And the fancy prrice tags they come with

Spec-Ops are big advocates of stock ECU tuning but they recently had a chance to dial in a AEM on a customers car that made good power on stock ECU and they realize tangible gains that makes getting a aftermarket ECU possibly more worth it then previously thought.

It's really just a question of if you want to spend the extra cash for basically just drivability comforts. Worth it in my opinion but not the top of my list lol. Also anyone else see that there is a 6bolt block on CL for $300?

Naw I stay off CL and other sites that I could spend money on **** I don't need.
I want to say that Spec_ops saw a 50hp in crease in some parts over the curve of one of their good customers. I may have the exact number wrong but I know that it was VERY substantial and enough to make them think twice about staying Stock ECU.
