Unhappy So my evo too a crap on me...

on the way to work this morning, i saw a black 04 s2k, the lightly remodeled version.... so i accelerate to get near it to check it out... and he starts hitting it... so i'm following him a bit... my exit comes...

on the exit, i hear all this clutch noise and this is when it starts getting weird...

on the exit, i couldn't get it into gear (any gear), and it was makin all kinds of noises, so i pull it into a parking lot, lock it up and run to my building cuz i was late for a meeting...

so now i'm at work, wonderin what the hellz wrong with my car... i'll probably have to get it towed to the dealer...

just freakin great

Sounds like the throw out bearing was pulled out off the pressure plate.

I second that.. It definitely sounds like the Throwout bearing becoming disengaged.. I've heard about that happening with upgraded clutches.

Sorry to hear about that. I am not sure where you intend on taking it but whatever you do don't take it to Fountain Mitsubishi. Their service manager is a real *****.

Well you have to test it first to make sure what it is. Put the car into gear and try to start it with clutch down if it jerks than that's the problem.

I have seen this happen to Exedy clutches on the Scoobys.

i had my throwout bearing replaced already .. but it was under warrenty.. the mistu that i go to are very forgiving when it comes to mods. they know your gunna mod the evo so they stick to the warrenty if you have anything that doesnt cause the problem they would fix it.. mabye somthing came loose withing the tarnny. like the shift cables or somthing?

I would consider a tranny shop. Considering that seems to have a real problem with the aftermarket clutches, I don't really think it will matter which dealership you take it to...I just moved to Orlando from Houston...so far the all the local dealerships that I have been in contact with suck. I really miss the one I had in Houston, they seemed to use more common sense as long as the mods were within reason. But even there you probably would be out of luck considering your particular problem. Anyhow, good luck...let us know how it turns out.

ok, went to see my car at lunch time...

with car off:
went into every gear perfectly, no problems, no grinding

put into first and started the car, there was no jerking motion ask Eric mentioned...

so i put it in reverse to move it a bit, when i try to get it to move, it seems as though the park brake is up, or i'm at a speed bump, and when it would move a lil, it would make a really bad metal to metal noise, so i didn't move it at all.

i'm going to get it towed, not sure where though... hopefully it's not my tranny... then i'll have to go JDM 6-speed

derek... which mitsu did you bring it to?
