Plasti dip! Found it!
ok so guys im sure some of you have read
http://www.lancertuners.com/forums/v...hp?f=13&t=6634
basically its a cheaper and more effective alternative to vinyl bumping and grille, or spray painting them
its basically a mix of both....theres a product called plasti-dip...its spray on, so same way you apply spray paint
however, the difference is, plasti-dip is harder than vinyl, its spray on rubber so no more worrying about driving too fast in the on the hwy and punching those plate holes agian, or winter car wash blowing the 2 holes out.
and appanretly its reversible too!!..no primer needed, and the guys in the US has been using it for a while...thought plastidip was US exclusive, cuz i couldnt find it @ the retailers but today i looked on home hardware.ca and there it was!
http://www.homehardware.ca/Products/...i_dip_blk_11oz
probably gonna pick up a can and redo my front =P

I dunno if we have a Home Hardware in my crappy city LOL. But I've been lookin' around for it too. I need to have my bumper re-done and the chrome put back on before Sunday's show I'm doin.
What do you do ? Just tape off the bumper and spray paint it ??

yea u just tape off bumper, spray, wait 10 mins remove orginal tape, re-tape, then respray...repeat...4 coats or 5 coats is optimal strength
reason for removing orginal tape is bcuz there will be some rubber spray drying on the orginal tape, and might pull all4 coats off if u dont take them while they are wet..so once they dry they become one solid coat
but yea this stuff sticks onto chrome too..
http://www.homehardware.ca/StoreLocator
use that store locator =P theres one like 5 mins drive away from me heh

Yea, this stuff is amazing!
I've used it on my grill and bumper! Its fully reversible! It peels off easily.
First when you spray it, it looks like a shiny black color. Let it dry and it's matte black!
Only downside to this is that it gets dirty fast! It's like everything likes to stick to it. On the positive side, its really durable.
Plasti dip is hard to find. Only certain stores will carry this in stock and if you do find it, its about $15-17 a can.
Not sure if it'll be cheaper than buying your own vinyl depending on your source; but its a lot stronger and durable than vinyl.
Plasti dip is weather resistant also.

I'm not too concerned about dirt my car is always dirty anyway haha. I live pretty much in the country so there's always massive bugs stuck on the front of my car. As long as I can wash it for shows I don't care.
So with each coat you should change your tape? Still sounds a lot easier than vinyl... what a pain that was LOL (And I didn't even do it, G did, but I watched him struggle!)
My chrome grill is already sanded, just needs to be repainted.
How many cans do you think I'll need??

If they don't have it in stock at your Home Hardware you can get them to order it in for you. I used it for my bumper but didn't realize until after I put all my coats on that i should have taken the tape off after each time. It looks ok now but eventually i'm gonna redo it properly.
