I hope this will be finalized soon since I'll be needing 2 sets of pads that needs to be replaced on the next car service (which is a lil' over a week overdue now <-- still waiting for the final info on Dealership Gold Alliance)

Verdict. Light weight rotors is not a very good way to 'free up' power. You're better off getting a light weight crank pully or underdrive pullies.

-----

As far as Stopping distances, i would say the OEM vs "upgraded Rotors" will yield less then 3' in a 100-0 stop.

Slotted rotors helps prevents brake fade from back to back to back hard stops, ie, road courses, as it prevents the pads from glazing over.
Wow, its great that your adding information in your posts, but do you mind sharing lancer / evo specific information, as well s their sources. we are all trying to learn here and everyone is encouraged to share their points of view. No one can be faulted for that.

cheers

I have no idea what the weights / diameter are for the lancers.

In case you're interested in the actual power increase calculation from inertia reduction of a wheel:

dP = (d_rim / d_tire)^2 * 4 * dm_rim / Mv
where
d_rim = diameter of the rim
d_tire = diameter of the tire
dm_rim = change in weight of the rim
Mv = mass of vehicle

evo_soul: while you're doing this brake upgrade, I think you should take a look into sourcing some SS (Stainless Steel) Brakelines, which would help improve the responsiveness

I could be wrong, but I think the brake lines for the Lancer might come in at about 130 US excluding shipping of course, but I cant see that being more then 25 dollars via UPS within canada.

Its speculation on the pricing for that. I have to wait for Mr. Swain to get back to us about official pricing. Even the RalliArt pricing I have set up in post 2 or 3 for older lancers is speculation using loose numbers thrown around on the phone. but those numbers are closer to the real thing

I hope you can get the pricing soon! Btw can the rotors be chosen to be coated a certain colour?

for most of the rotors , yes they can be coated. personally

I am probably going to go with Black HD MSR rims and black coated rotors and Stock Red painted Calipers.

Should look good
