was a decent turn out, just one evo and about 4 lancer test drivers. few guys slamed down money right away. others have to save up more. thanks for everyone who came out.

I took the sprint booster out for a run in my 5 spd 09 lancer. Here is my take on it:

Pros
  • Improved throttle response makes rev-matching easy when down shifting
  • Instantaneous throttle response aids in launching out of first gear
  • Decreased pedal travel
  • Makes your car "feel" faster leading to a more spirited driving experience

Cons
  • Steep price for a placebo
  • Benefits do not show up on the dyno
  • Difficult to removed once installed

It is a good product if you have the disposable income, however when your budget is tight, you may want to explore other upgrades that will equally improve your driving experience. Personally I would like to try out the less costly RRM pulley and see if I can improve my car's responsiveness that way and recover some brake horsepower at the same time.

correction for that last con.

VERY VERY difficult to remove once installed. heheh j/k

Just gotta press really really really hard to unclip it. Very few guys have no problem. I am part of the majority that cant do it. lol

I would guess for the Manual you would, a peppy low end throttle will spur more aggressive shifting. lol but we are talking about a 3500 pound pig with 4 wheels here.

Auto wise, I would say its the same fuel economy since its all in how you want to drive the car, you have control over how fast you want to accelerate. Vs. the gear / ratio hunting you would get before trying to hit your mark.
