Where to go to lower the car?

Hello all!

I am considering dropping the car a bit. However, I think I will go the cheaper route (not confirmed yet) and just lower the car, and not bother with the coilovers. I'm not really a track person, so...

Where is a good place to get this done?
I called a place called Noyz Boyz (where I got my exhaust done), and they quoted about $650 or so. Is that a fair and average price, or are there other places in Toronto I can go?

This would be good for other people who are wondering the same thing.

I'm not going to lower it yet... in the future.
But even if, once I lower it, it will have to be driven in the winter eventually... >.>

best place imho is 360 auto; shop owner's name is CHI and he backs up his work. i had a small issue with my eibach prokit and he walked through it with me and got it fixed without any hassle.

did i mention he is the cheapest in toronto? $120 cash for 100% satisfactory installation.

Guys I think the $120 was for install only not including the springs.
also keep in mind when going with any lowering springs your stock shocks are guaranteed to blow. Driving around on blown shocks is a big fail and sucks big time.
If you budget $300 for lowering springs and another $120 for install thats $420 with no adjustability and a free ride to blown shocks in a very short time.

Makes more sense to spend a extra $300 and go with coils. not get blown shocks and have the ability to raise your car in the winter time... no one likes to have their car be a snow plow.
going with coils is not just about performance or tracking your car..

just my 2c

cheers

camber kit will help with that tho not make em last forever , tho from mitsu themselves the car can handle around a 1.2 drop , i still think they will blow eventually no matter what , the lower you go the more you risk , but also depends how you drive your car , i have had no issues with mine yet

some people just dont have a g to drop on coils , myself included or id have em by now

got my kit from tirerack for 320

install was free

camber kit was 60 , and alignment was 80

so in total was 460

if the install for 120 includes the instal of the camber kit and alignment then thats a good deal

kyb engineer said ur better off with the es, gts just cant handle a meaningful drop. putting both into perspective, it sucks that they designed the ride height so high for our cars

just from my experience:

bought my teins on ebay for 200 us, had them installed for 100us. been driving on them using stock shocks since june and car runs fine, however shocks do feel as if they are wearing slightly

you will need alignment asap...you will need new shocks eventually...camber kit i would recommend to prevent severe tire wear but for me i dont have one.

So, the general conclusion for this topic:
One should get coilovers for a 2008+ Lancer, and it's not worth it in the long run to just drop the car?
