a 30$ ticket with no points is cinsidered minor, it won't affect you ins. try to get ysometing higher then start worring.

the process for getting a ticket reduced is quite laughable.
The steps are:

1) never respond to your ticket with option #1 or #2, go for #3 (not-guilty, requesting court date)

2) call the court house that is listed on your ticket, ask if your ticket has been registered into their system with the clerk

3) once registered, you do the "first attendance" meeting with the prosecuter.

You go early in the morning to get your name on a list for the morning (depending on where your ticket is, there might be a bigger lineup...Newmarket courtroom for York region is not too busy). Once your name is called you go and meet the prosecuter and they will say what your reduced charges will be (you don't need to say a thing!!). I had my 2 points & $90 reduced to 0 points and $60. If you agree, then you acknowledge agreement. You go back out and wait to meet the Justice of the Peace, who will ask if you plead guilty to the new charges. You say yes, sign a form, and go outside to pay the new charges. Thats it!!

Because you plead guilty to the new charges it'll show up on your abstract. If its a small infraction i doubt insurance will ding you big time, assuming clean record.

as long as you are going 1 km/h over, youre insurace will be affected. speeding is speed and the insurance company will find any wany to make an extra dollar off you.

Got pulled over for flashing other drivers about a speed trap, sadly the oncoming driver was another cop. He was nice about it at least.

^ You can fight that one, you can fight the fact you were doing the same as a posted speed sign or a noticable parked police car, in the end isnt the whole point to get people to slow down? You did nothing wrong, just helping slow people down.

Ive heard a few cases get thrown out because of this.

he didn't give me a ticket, he said: he doesn't care if i warn people about a speed trap, but flashing my high beams at night is dangerous. told me not to do it again, and told me to go home. nice guy but took like 20 mins for him to check my license for some reason while i sat in my car with flashing lights behind me, maybe he wanted to publicly humiliate me lol.

What are you going to fight?

Use hi-beams on coming? 2 points off your licence.
Use alternating beams? 2 points off your licence.

What are you going to fight? Which part?

A cop told me once, "technically, when you flash your hi-beams, you are obstructing an officer in the legal execution of his duties by warning motorists of Police enforcement, you may be charged criminally for obstruct police."

I'm guessing people are not charged with it here because cops are too busy. But frig, why risk it.
