Which All Season Tire is Better?

I need to get new all season tires. I am not getting winter tires, so I would like to know which set you guys would recommend.

Size I am getting is - 225 - 40 - 18

The choices are:

Sumo Akina st09
Zeetex hp102
Nankang NS2 sport
Hercules Raptis Wr1

does Balancing tires = allignment?

thank you

lets start with which is not recommended lol
Hercules is bad. too many problems and defects w/ those.. they will vibrate on highway speed like your wheels gonna fall off. no wheel balancing will fix that... this is from personal experience with a customer.. highly recommend you to avoid this brand

never heard of zeetex and nankang

sumo are better than hercules... lol

balancing tires =/= alignment
alignment is to ensure you car is geometrically aligned. a bad tire, low tire pressure, bad rim can still make ur car pull or vibrate

advan ad08 is a joke lol they're extreme summer tires. conti dws is pretty much the best all season tire on the market right now in terms of actually handling every season - i think the dws is about 125/tire in 235/45-17. tires are something i would definitely pay however much for a good set

stick with Conti DWS, its the best tire period. And its designed for Snow. No other company can make that claim for an all season.

225 40 18 is compatible

I just picked up a set of these today for next to nothing... $620 shipped/no tax from discount tire,, they have them for 168 or something like that.. I asked them to match sears,, they went down to 155/tire no additional fees. 245 40 18

Sumo out of all of those, I had the nankang and they sucked, hercules suck and never heard of the other brand. Another respectible low priced tire is the Falken 452's.

The the original poster... you sure you want to buy the cheapest tires possible??? I remember some tire shops saying they wouldn't even install certain Chinese tires on people's cars because they had no confidence in their safety. There was a magazine that was comparing winter tires recently... and they actually didn't finish the test for the Chinese tires because they said they thought it was un-safe.

Tires are very important... I'd buy good ones. You don't need to buy like Bridgestone, Goodyear or Michelin... but there are plenty of brands out there that are better than YingYangChing tires. lol

people are free to buy what they want. But at the end of the day, you get what you pay for.

In most cases its better to stick with what you know vs. what you dont know. Not to say anything negative about Chinese tires. Its just the experiences I have had in the past wasnt to pleasant. But if I can see hard data that shows me they have turned the page. Just like how I dont buy anything Dunlop. Until I see them turn the page. I will not touch them.
