I've heard a lot of bad things about STi/WRX engine...

Just do a search on youtube for subaru engine failures and you'll see plenty of videos people posted of their current gen WRX and STI's that have blown up on them.

I think alot of the blown motors you hear about are stupid drivers or badly put together motors. I mean if they say dont push more then 400lb-ft of torque and you do, well then you kind of deserve.

Subaru doesnt know anything about RWD but Toyota does and they are helping to make this car

 

The newer Subaru engines are blowing up on BONE STOCK WRX/STi's. They have really weak pistons/ringlands and the stock tune on them is about as bad as it can get.

RX-8 looks cool, it will probably still be slow and make about 50ft/lbs though haha

The current rx8 is horrible and has really bad fuel economy

 

The new RX-8 is said to have 300 hp and have a small electric motor for low end torque assist. Mazda is stepping their game up.

don't think I can drive anything other than awd, its so forgiving in winter. I think if I get myself back in my old rsx, I would end up wrapped around a light pole
