blown strut???
does anybody has an experience driving with a blown strut? what would you feel different?
i have a RRM lowering spring installed for a month, just came from the dealership yesterday and the mechanic told me that my struts are gone but i never really feel something major different in driving my car. i'm a little bit confused.

when a strut is gone, you can never know. truly based on ride feel. A strut can be compromised but still feel as if everything is fine. You will only notice when there are shifts in car body weight and excessive roll. At the extremes the car will be more difficult to control.
Unfortunately a degrading suspension set up is like a frog in a kitchen pot. The water starts out cold. If you drop a frog in boiling water, it jumps out. But drop it in cold water and boil it slowly, the poor frog doesnt realize whats going on and dies eventually. lol yes I am saying, you will die life a frog on warn suspension. lol joking. Its a strange analogy but I feel I had to use one today.
Long story short, Mitsubishi Lancer KYB struts do not take very well to being lowered.
Your next aim should be to upgrade to proper coilovers. I recommend either Tein Basics (twin tube) if your on a budget, or HSD (monotube) coilovers.
lol chopped springs, I saw one around here the other day. apparently he was happy with his ride lol. Crazy.. that stuff will get people killed. not sure why they do it.

do the bounce check, push down on all four corners one at a time. If the car bounce right back up then your shocks are fine, if it takes 2 secs you got blown shocks. Also when you ride over bumps you will hear sqeaking noises.
my 2 cents.

i did the bounce check, it bounces back right away. i will see a mechanic on Saturday just to make sure everything is fine, for the mean time i'll just have to be careful driving the car. thanks for the inputs!

worst comes to worst then i'm gonna have to buy coilovers.
