That's exactly what they are, scammers.

I have also heard Mid-Toronto are now playing the same the same game by billing for service that is not actually performed or is performed incorrectly.

Yeah, I'm not taking the car to Scarborough anymore mainly because, they lied to me a couple of times and tried to prove me wrong.

+1 even though they did not do anything wrong on my Evo yet but feedback from you guys already flagged it.

Just as a side note. The Caliber SRT-4 comes with 0W40 factor fill for their 4B12T.
Sorry I missed your point?

What is done is done. Person / Tech made a mistake. Unless the original poster was going to hit the track, I would say it wouldnt be that harmful for the points I stated.

Caliber uses 0w40. Genesis Turbo asks for 5w20, 5w30, 5w40 in the manual. Again, putting it in perspective. It will not cause very much harm if the driver is not beating on it. If the oil was semi synthetic or conventional, then we got a problem.

Hense the problem Mitsubishi is facing in Ontario. The quality of service is ... (searching for kind words) less than stellar. And without a strong foundation of front line service staff and techs. I do not see the situation improving in the near term.

People will continue to stir clear of dealerships until the confidence level of Mitsu owners improves.

I think if Mitsubishi tried harder to keep the Maple Dealership, that would be a great example of how a service department should be run.

I compl hear ya, I'd rather find a competent shop and I would feel better knowing Mitsu backed their products. til then I prbly won't recommend their vehicles to my friends.

I went to Maple for a recall on my Evo (had no choice to get done to RIV it in). The service was great other than my IC pipe being lose and poping off the next day on the 404. (what a nightmare).

It's too bad really maple went under probably the only dealership I would of dealt with.

I went into Richmond Hill Mitsu the other day to stock up on some crush washers. They were out of stock on back order... lol. Not sure what they were using for oil changes in the mean time... not sure if I want to think about it either....

There is a poster up at A dealer stating all the new changes to oils specs. Factory fill is now Ow20 for lancers and 0w30 or 0w40 for evo/ ra's. I going to try it 0w-40 mobil 1, there is a analysis from clipse3gt comparing it to ep 5w30.

I had similar issues with Scarborough last summer when I asked them to put some Amsoil 5W40 that I brought with me into my Ralliart and they wanted to flag it as a possibly voiding my warranty since it wasn't a "recommended" weight even though it had all the requisite ILSAC and API certifications. It was also the exact same type of oil that a buddy of mine used in his Evo and when he went to Dixie for his change they actually congratulated him on the oil choice.

Needless to say, I now take my car to Dixie Mitsu even though it is way out of my way (I live downtown and work in Markham).

Good to hear that others have had good experiences at Dixie as well. They seem to have a fair number of Evos and Ralliarts going there for service, as I have seen several every time I stop by.

*sigh*

Looks like its unanimous - Scarb Mitsu is a waste of space.

Had my wife bring in the Lancer for our free Oil change, and at the same time ask about the Service Pkg that was due.

Long story short, the douche told her she "has to" get it done, or else the warranty will void. When asked what was included in the $300 service package, the only NON-Inspection service was Spark Plugs and a tire rotation.

Knowing it was a rip-off, she quickly asked what if we buy plugs at Crappy Tire and install somewhere else. The tire rotation isn't an issue since we swap winters

He insisted she HAS to have Scarb Mitsu do the install and it HAS to be the OEM plugs.

So she played along, and asked, out of curiosity, how much plugs were. "$25/each" he replies. So wifey laughs back and says "$200 labor for a 45 min job?!!!"

Total monkey-dcik!

yeah i would stop taking your car there. i going to stick with markham mitsubishi until they screw me over. so far they have treated me well, giving me a decent clean loaner car and wash my car with some care. the car washes at scar. will mess up the clear coat and scratch the paint. they looked at my car and tried to figure out my random nostarts and hesitations. my stock battery fail the charge and load test and had it replaced.

they even tried to fix up my car pulling to the right issue.
just going to monitor the car to see if the issue occurs again. oh yeah, they even tire shine my winters hahaha
