Cobb Tuning Exhaust Press Release
Salt Lake City, Utah, August, 2007 - COBB Tuning is proud to announce the release its Turbo Back Exhuast for the 2003-06 Mitsubishi Evolution.
The COBB Tuning Stainless Steel 3” Turbo Back Exhaust is engineered to be everything the Mitsubishi EVO needs in an exhaust system -- a complete, truly engineered system, that offers optimal performance, tasteful looks, and unparalleled durability without a loud and obnoxious exhaust note.
The system is offered with a high flow catalytic converter, or no catalytic converter, in the test pipe section. This is a direct fit replacement to the stock exhaust unit without the need for spacers to lower the factory bracing.
The COBB Turbo Back Exhaust consists of

- Test Pipe (Catted or Non Catted)
- Cat Back Exhaust
Sound Measurement Data:
Stock DP & Cat with Cobb cat-back - idle - 80db SAE J1169 - 88db
Cobb DP, Stock Cat, Cobb cat-back - idle - 79db SAE - 93db
Cobb DP, Cobb high flow cat pipe, Cobb cat-back - idle 80db SAE 94db

Great News to Hear
By chance to have any answers to these questions:
1. Is it a full 3" TBE
2. Any Idea about the weight loss compared to stock
3. It sounds like from the COBB info it retains all the stock mounting points...is that true
Lastly, did they give you any idea on the AP...and if possibly any other tuners...say WORKS could load their specific maps into the AP.
Thanks for your response

The system is a full 3" system.
The cat back is 7-8lbs lighter then stock.
The system does not use that one muffler hanger that's way far away. Most systems do not use it.
And another interesting thing, that with the catted test pipe the exhaust system is 6 decibels quieter than with the straight pipe. It will pass California's noise requirements!
