The turbine of the GT35 and the 6262 both have 62mm exducer (minor) diameters. They have different inducer (major) diameters.
You got it just right. You even picked up on the little-known fact that the GT35 has an inuducer instead of an inducer. Very good!

I read through everything here and it's good to see the thread still alive and doing well. I'm in the middle of building a 1G ('91 TSi) and I've been looking for a turbo. I spoke to Ryan yesterday @ Import Evolution and he told me that I could have the PTE 5857 built with the Mitsu flange. I thought this was awesome as I didn't know it were possible. For those of you familiar with E85 here in Arizona, it's everywhere and that is my fuel of choice. I spend 98% of my time on the streets here. My goals are 500whp @ 30PSI. I'm looking at the PTE 5857 with .63 a/r as the choice. What do you fellahs think?

On a side note, I have a cousin building another 1G with a goal of 600whp. Do you fellahs think that the PTE 5857 would do the job as well or maybe the PTE 6262?

Thanks.

So you can have these turbos built with a mitsu flange that will allow use of the stock manifold?

You will have to call Ryan @ Import Evolution. I asked specifically about my '91 DSM. They can be matched to either a 1G, 2G, EVO III, exhaust manifold. Again, you have to check with IE.

I will give you my opinions, bear in mind, where I live good fuel is bad by your standards and 30psi is a luxury most cant afford... too complicated things I am at 5000ft altitude...

Good choice I believe, this to be a 550-580whp turbo, havent seen a compressor map yet to gauge if the airflow is actually 55lbs/min+ but from the wheel combination and specs it is bigger than a GT30R and smaller than a GT35R...

GT30 < 5857 < GT35
60mm < 65mm < 68mm
76/56 < 76/58 < 82/61

6262 in a T3 .63 is a better choice for 60lbs/min of airflow and it will make that without being stressed...

5857 I believe should be 55-58lbs/min, maybe its possible at 30psi+ it can flow 60lbs/min but I wouldnt wana gamble on that until I see is compressor map... none the less with a 600whp goal I would rather go with a HTA GT3582R, PTE 3562R or PTE 6262...

I made 428hp and 366tq @ 21lbs on a mustang dyno in my 02 wrx with a built 2.6 hybrid motor using 93 octane

yeah sorry man,
you didn't say anything wrong. I saw the 62mm and thought you were talking about the compressor wheel

Do you think 21 psi is about as far as you would want to go with straight 93 octane, no meth? With this turbo I mean.

That dyno plot, doesn't look familiar. Is that from a regular chassis dyno, or is that from your logging software?

on just pump i think i could of done more maybe 23-25psi with out any problems per the tuner, but my intercooler piping would not stay put. as far as the dnyo graph goes it from a mustang chassis dnyo the tuner had to email it to me so i dont know if he used different software to do so
