Will you ever do a back to back test of a PT turbo and a Garrett equivalent?

For example, I don't think you guys have proven there is a PT turbo that makes more power than a HTA35R and spools better.

Since when is an HTA35R a Garrett turbo?

I think their track performance has shown the PT stuff can hold it's own. I use to be a big time "hater" on precision because of their crappy reliability and quality control in the past. I've been pretty impressed with them in the last year or so and would consider running their products now.

 

if this is true what are the benefits of ceramic ball bearing over standard ball bearing?

Has Precision released the charts on this turbo yet??

 

Ceramic (Silicon nitride) ball bearings are harder than metal which reduces contact with the bearing track. This results in 80% less friction, 3 to 10 times longer lifetime, 80% higher speed, 60% less weight, the ability to operate with lubrication starvation, higher corrosion resistance and higher operation temperature, as compared to traditional metal bearings.

 

Another interesting turbo to look at for us road race guys. Which Precision Turbo is AMS branding as the 750R? I believe the wheels are similar in size to this turbo, but the air cooled center cartridge is new.

 

No i probably wont.. I have independent results that prove the PTE t3's are the only 8 second turbos to date and thats enough for me.. NOTHING makes more power than the PTE 67 in t3.. There is no Identical Equivalent turbo from garrett.. the HTA 3582 is smaller than 6262 so certainly it spools better but it doesnt make more power.. The HTA86 has a larger turbine side than 6262 so its not equivalent..

Thanks... I think you said the same as i did.. the track performance speaks for itself.. PTE holds all T3 records to date.. Of course every car is different but the fact still remains..

No idea of Lbs per Min or flow chart.. Honestly i personally have never seen a chart on any of the billet turbos..

Ok guys YES, these new units re Ceramic Ball bearing as opposed to steel.. Ceramic Ball bearing has less frictions and is more durable than steel Ball Bearing..

So is this in place of the 5757 that you have been talking about for awhile now, or is that still expected as well?

 

Im not sure about the 5757 release but quite honestly a 5857 is going to have identical spool to a 5857 and in theory 1mm larger compressor should make more power.. so i dont see much use for 5757 now..

I see 5857, 6057 and 6262 being the 3 top evo turbo choices.. all have different spool characteristics and Peak HP gains.. I would choose each turbo based on HP goals vs. spool necessity..

well I certainly cant wait for your guys results and dyno graph if possible. I am definitely interested in the 5857 and what it can do. You mentioned that choosing one of the aforementioned turbos should be based on HP goals not spool necessarily, but I am interested in its spool characteristics for the street. anyway, I've got the crank bugs goin, so hope you guys are able to put something down soon..
