STM Releases the new STM 650 cam shafts.

I have been holding off on this post waiting for more stock to come in. Today I picked up a few more sets of these cams and have them ready to go.

In collaboration with Dave Buschur we have come up with a cam shaft that we feel meets the needs of everyone looking for 650 plus whp on a mustang dyno. We have tested these cams back to back a few times and found nothing short of great results.

The STM '650' Cams are designed for high HP Evo's making 650+ wheel horsepower (measured by our Mustang Dyno.) We will not give out the specs on these cams, as this is the only camshaft of its kind. What we can tell you is that they work! 80 HP from a set of cams? Click for more info!

Thanks for your support!

Just in comparison, do you think there would be an improvement in switching to this cam from a FP5R? What would be the improvements? Thanks for being creative and bringing a new product to the Evo communtiy.

I have never tuned or used an FP5r so I really can't say. Rather not speculate on things I do not have first hand experience with.

There are much better cams out there for you at that level then these. I would think they will hurt more then you will gain. If you are looking for something PM me and I can go over some different options with you that may fit your needs.

i know you cant give out specs and all but i was curious when looking at the dyno graph on your website, why did the TQ fall off toward the upper end of the graph? I assume it was the turbo not having a big enough hot side but just wanna check.

Also i know the cams i run are very similar to the Kelfords many of your cars run is the lift with these more aggressive or on par with them, im thinking about a new set of cams for next year and wondering if these just might help me.

Are these similar to the BF272 in that you dont recommend using them with a factory shortblock

How are they vs a bf272? Or in rpm how much more lag can be expected with these vs the bf272.

These are a bit bigger than the BF 272. When our car (ricer) was stuck at 700 whp we were on the BF 272. Swapped cams and found quite a bit. We were on the 6765 then.

James, I would not suggest these on anything making under 650 whp on our dyno. They are too big.

I know there bigger but how much lag was added over the Br 272s. Can u pm me a graph of the comparison or just tell me how they are down low and mid range vs the Br 272. And what boost level was the test at. Or better yet what rpm does each can hit 30 PSI at on the test

well i guess these might be about right for next year, im hoping for a little bit of extra power after the switch to e85, either that or ill spin a bearing . i do wanna see a STM650 comparison to the BF272. They both seem like a great set of cams and i just wanna see how they differ, but if this cam is more top end happy then that would be the best bet for me

Do you need to modify the valve guide height with these cams?
