English Racing - Underdriven Oil Pump Gear
English Racing recently partnered with Metal Technologies in Albany Oregon to rapid prototype this 4g63 oil pump gear. This gear was printed on their metal laser printer to exact measurements based on our drawings. They turned it out quickly and we have had no problems with the product during our initial testing. It has a larger overall diameter to lower the very high oil pressures these engines reach and allows more oil to be in the pan where it should be to protect the engine. Perfect for you high-rev & track drivers!
With the high demand of these gears, we are already on Backorder (roughly 1 month out) on having these in stock and ready to ship, but still accepting orders.

FAQ-
Q- Timing belt?
A- Same as stock. Just reset the idler on the tensioner. requires minor trimming of the pump and cover to fit. Not big deal for the engines these are made for!
Q- How much does it drop oil pressure?
A- 1100rpm idle is 20psi, the pump doesnt exceed 90psi even with rolled bearings (deleted shaft). Cars that have a balance shaft delete but retain the shaft will be in the 80psi range which fits the old 10psi per 1000rpm rule even better.
Q- Why?
A- Reduced load on the oil pump will mean reduced failures of both pumps and engines.

After the initial (and somewhat unexpected) rush on the first order we re-opened the sale of these at the normal MSRP. As much as we would like to continue selling them at the lower price it is not feasible because of current production costs. In the future if production price decreases there will be an appropriate adjustment in the store pricing.

Video of the gears being printed. Its amazing what technology now allows us to do.
