I think if a GT35R is going on there that HKS 2.75 downpipe, stock cat, and HKS neck-downed catback is going to become a MAJOR restriction no?

That looks like a diesel torque curve. Lots' of stump pulling power, but not much left after 5k RPM's. It'll be much better with the other turbo.

By the way, I'll take the stock turbo off the 9 from him

A few minor mods may free up another 20 or so whp or so on the top end

However, the customer is directing us to swap out this stock turbo and go for a GT35 R - apparently he is into high speed and top end driving

The next chapter of this build up will be interesting

Myself personally - I would not touch this car - I love this machine, but the customer wants even more power
I agree completely. The car is completely perfect as it is.

remember guys - a car modification project is the expression of the individuality of the car owner. Everyone has his / her own vision and dream of what kind of machine must be created.

By the way Shark - please post some pics of your car - I think its one bad *** looking ride

i doubt that you can get more power while still maintaining the same "instant on" power that you currently have. it is your car and your money though. whatever makes you happy. at least now i know what kind of combination can bring me what i consider to be perfect performance.

^You see that is thing about the IX EVO is that everytime something is done to it, it seems like it's always breaking new ground. To compare it to gains or anything that would be normal on VIII is just not correct thinking in my opinion. The IX is different and this customer is willing to explore the potential of his IX and I see no problem with that. I mean honestly with the GT35R Turbo I am expecting the numbers to be similiar or a little more powerful to that of a VIII running a GT35R Turbo with a 2.3L Stroker. Then again that is the thing about the IX, what is expected, is not what we seem to be seeing, and I wouldn't be surprised if the IX again shocks and amazes the EVO community. Who knows?

Yes the totally redsigned cyl head of the IX is a huge tuning advantage

Only problem we have had thus far is to find good spark plugs for it
