yes the 275 fit on 17x9 +35. Of course you have to do all the mods that any 275 tire warrants, rolling fenders, maybe spacers in the front depending on what coilovers, etc.

Update:

After 5 track days and 2500 street miles, my set is still kicking strong. After this last two day event at sebring, I have finally removed all the tread block and am down to just the two rings and they are better than ever. Should hold up for at least another few track days I would guess. After I wear this set out, I will be switching to 17" wheels with 255/40s from my 245/40/18s

On the project Evo, after a day of abuse from Robi, and three days and the hands of SPT, they are still showing plenty of life with the tread blocks intact.

Damn I can only hope mine will last that long...

So far I got one track event on my (245-45-17's). I must say they are great tires for the money. So far the wear is very even, traction is good, easy to find the limit of the tire... Overall I give them two thumbs up!

ooo.. I just got this email from Nitto:
The 255/40R17 NT01 has just been released. You should be able to order them through any Nitto Dealer. We thank you for your interest in Nitto Tires.

Thank you,

Good deal. They should fit the stocker with a bit of a buldge. The SCC project evo was using 255 RA1s on the stock wheels, so this should be no different.

I finally used up my first set of these and cant wait to get another

I have not tried them for auto-x, but ehre are my thoughts. If you are very serious about auto-x, certain companies make auto-x specific compound that get to temp extremely quickly, but are not good for road course. The Nittos do take a solid half lap at a decent size road course to get to good temp. I would say even not up to temp, they are going to be better than almsot any street tire like most DOT-Rs, but if you are looking for something ideal for that use, either get them warm before your session or use a auto-x compound tire.
