They are legal to run on the street and do not wear as bad as I though. I put about 2500 street miles on mine. No nails, no problems. They only get really sticky and start picking up stuff when you run them really hard like on the track.
Not good in rain though which is why they are not recomended for the street though they are completely legal.

I wish I could find these for sale, no luck so far, called them 5 times to see if I could get a different answer.

Dan,
Are you calling Discount Tire or Discount Tire Direct? I called DTD at 800-589-6789. I told them I talked to a Nitto Representative and they told me the 255/40/17s were available. So the sales guy I talked to their Nitto guy and got pricing. I would guess these tires should be in their system now that I placed an order for them.

235 vs. 255 on stock rims
Nitto recommends 8.5"+ rim for 255's, anyone have experience using the NT01 255's & 235's on a road course with stock 8" bbs? The Toyo RA-1 255 fit with a slight bulge on the stock rims, it seemed to have slightly higher ultimate grip level than the 235 with less turn in response.

Old thread, I know, but appropriate. I just got a set and want to make sure they last. Any experience with camber settings and are you getting even tire wear with your set-up? I'm currently at 2 degrees front, 1.6 rear. I don't think it'll be enough, but how much is enough to keep from wearing out the outer edge (235/40r17). I don't want to end up throwing them away from a bad alignment. I went soft on camber because I'll be driving on them to and from the track.

This is in vendor service, and won't really get the traction it deserves. Please don't necro bump threads, but copy/paste your post and form a thread here:

It will get substantially more tire related views and you'll get answers that way.
