Omori Boost Gauge Advisory

I have had a 25 psi Omori electronic boost gauge that is color adjustable and has a 52mm face. Although it is only numbered to 25psi, it has easy to read notches that take it up to 30 psi. I found out over the last few months that it is only accurate up to 26 psi. If you are running 32 psi, the gauge will only read 27psi. If you trust the gauge, your engine may go boom.... My gauge will never read above 27psi no matter what I thow at it. I now have a Zeitronix wideband that reads boost accurately to 35psi.

This isn't a knock against the Omori. It works perfectly to 26psi and is a 25psi gauge. Just don't trust it above that level.

C'mon, what you are advising is common sense. Use the guage for what it was meant for...nothing beyond 25 psi. That's just common sense. No advisory needed IMO.

It isn't quite common sense. If you look at the gauge, it is not clear that it is only a 25psi gauge. Although the number 30 is not spelled out, there is a very clear 1 psi mark for each psi up to 30. A person could easily be led to believe that those hash lines are accurate.

OK, that makes a little more sense.

My Defi is a 35psi gauge, and it gets hairy past 26psi too.

I had a few problems with my omori's on my VW. Mostly with the lighting, but other than that good quality.

Hey Smoggy, I have question. I also been running this gauge for about year and half. I always been wondering how accurate it was, have u ever compared the gauge at like 22psi with ur Zeitronix wideband? Thanks for the help.

Yes I have. When the Omori reads 22 psi, the Zeitronix reads 20.5.
