Thumbs up Just got back from Top Speed

Yesterday me and my brother took our evo VIII's to Top Speed in Atlanta. Those guys are great. It's a five hour drive each way for us and allthough I wouldn't want to spend 10 hours in an evo again anytime soon it was well worth it. Once we got there they didn't waste any time getting to work on the cars. We ordered up some chinese and watched the show.

I had already installed all of my parts before we went so all i needed was a tune. (mods: 3" TBE, cone style filter, racemax 272's, ARP headstuds, walbro 255, and an SAVC-R...... I think that's everything. )
My baseline dyno run was 279.9hp and 267.88tq and after they were finished tuning the ol' red swan put down 339.94hp and 319.45tq!!!!

My brother's was up next his list of mods is the same with the addition of an Apexi power fc, fmic upgrade, licp, and injectors. He had kept the boost turned down on his car because it needed to be tuned and that's the way they did the first dyno run. The first run put down around 250hp (not sure the tq), but after some tuning, a quick trip to Napa, and then some more tuning it put down some better numbers. 345.23hp and 324.27tq with an air/fuel curve that looks like someone used a ruler to draw it out. I think that once he does his turbo upgrade in the spring those extra parts are going to pay off huge for him.

The trip home was great, it felt like we were driving completely different cars. I also noticed an increase in fuel mileage which is never a bad thing.
The guys at top speed know what they are doing. I am very happy with what they have done for us, and I know that the next time we need to get tuned we'll be making the trip again.

280 baseline on an VIII? Dynojet? Still sounds a little powerful.

It had parts on it already. Probibly most of them broke even, but you definatly still make power on a TBE with no tune.

what kind of FMIC, and injectors does you bro have? Is he running the D-jetro version of Power FC? What turbo upgrade is he deciding to go with? Thanks in advance .

Which parts did it already have on when you did the baseline?

can't remember which fmic he has. I want to say it's the AMS. I'll have him post up on here and correct/add to anything I posted. Hopefully he'll post about which turbo upgrade he's looking at, because I still don't know LOL.
