Advans are toast.....Nitto NT555 ?

Just some tire FYI and to see if anyone else is running Nitto 555's.......

10,000 on the clock and my stock Advans are toast - inside tread blocks down to the secoadary rubber, 3/32" left in the center grooves - rotated every 3000 or so.

just had a new set of Nitto NT555's 245/45R17 89W installed.....
($432 for 4 delivered!)

Not sure what to think yet as the roads are still cold and salty around here and I have not been out much......

My initial thoughts are they are not even in the same class as the Advans, but the price is right and they look and ride great! The bump from 235 to 245 fills up the wheel well nice too......

Anyone have any experience with these tires?

Thanks - Sick Speed

Nitto 555 is pretty sick, work just like advan. Or you can go with the Falken Azenis RT615 those are chap as help and perform almost up to par like the advanRe046. Good choice though.

Thanks for the reply.....I am very happy with the price.....we'll see how they really work when the pavement gets above freezing!

I also considered the Falkens, Toyos plus some of the other Advans.......then I read all the good stuff in the EVOM tire forum....that was a big help......but not much info on the Nitto NT555....

I plan on wearing off the outer layer of rubber this afternoon!

Later - Sick Speed

No, Nitto 555s are nothing like the Advans, Azntoyhere. They are a big drop down in performance and 245/45 is not a good size. Should have gotten something good like the Azeni RT-615s in 255/40, imo.

Sick speed, 245 is the width, so that doesn't affect the wheel gap. It's the 45 profile, which is a percentage of the overall width that makes it taller and fills up the wheel gap more, but that's not a positive thing, unfortunately.

There's a LOT of info here on EvoM. You said you didn't see much?

Lots more, but that should have been enough to save you from buying such weak tires...

I am currently running Nitto NT555 and they great daily driving and decent spirited driving tires....but performance they are no way or shape as close to the advans. If you want something with a little more grip then definately go for the Falken 615 or Toyos (heard some really great things about them). But for the price of the tires...they arent too bad.

I used the Nitto 555's on my wrx for a total of 3k miles. They were way too soft and had no grip. I ended up selling them and getting other tires.

Going from a 235/45-17 to a 245/45-17 increases the overall diameter of your tires by 0.4 inches. Doesn't sound like much but it is.

the performance of your evo will outperform those 300 Treadwear tires u just bought if u wanted a similar performing tire. the best lower price alternative to stock would have been the Advan Neova AD07 or the Advan Sport. both have a treeadwear of 180 (vs the stock 160) with the Neova just slightly better than the Sport but alot less than the stock replacement.

i run Advan A032R's with a treadwear of 60 (last about 2K miles) & since those are discontinued, i'm looking into either Advan A048's or Dunlop Z1's

Nitto 555s are nothing like the Advans, i'm regret of getting Nitto 555. Dry handle suck (my opinion) . i'm running RE-01 now, now that is something like stock Advans.

No, not on the stock-sized rim even when lowered. This can be found in countless threads in this very forum.

I'm running the 555's on my other car, and they are loud as hell. Granted they are mounted on 18's with a 45 series profile, but won't be a re-purchase.

sorry ot,but
why would you chose 255/40's instead of 245/45?

aren't the 245/45 closer to stock?

Some might not like the skinnier sidewall

help?
