There are high flow catalytic converters and then there is RANDOMTECH!!!
I got my unit on friday and i have to say that i am VERY impressed. It looks like a resonated testpipe, quite light and you can literally see through it!
It will replace my UR high flow cat...
I will install it next saturday along with my Nisei piping kit and then retune with Dynoflash. After this i will have almost every bolt-on on the car except exhaust manifold...
Here are some pictures...
It is a true 3 inch..
Enjoy...

Today i just emailed Randomtech regarding the flow of the particular cat...
This unit which belongs to the 7000 series and it has 3 inch inlet/outlet flows 617cfm...
I have to say that this is the HIGHEST flow number in cfm from all the cats i have ever seen...
It is even higher than the 597cfm that the Vibrant cat advertises on their website and vendor sites...
Now don't get confused. On their website Randomtech states that their 3 inch cat flows 502cfm, but this is the 9000 series and not the 7000, like the Evo cat, which is the race style unit...
This saturday i will put it on the car and see if it makes a difference from the Ultimate racing unit that i currently use...

i don't know an exact number, but usually the ceramic substrate cats flow in the high 300s maybe the low 400s cfm...
If this is the case then we are dealing with at least 200cfm more flow, which will definitely make more power.
Saturday i will install it in the place of the UR unit and make a baserun, before retune the car.
Last dynosheet was 344whp. I will put the Randomtech unit and piping kit (which i doubt it will influence the whp value, except maybe better response) and dyno it...

Randon Tech Cats are pretty nice. Just this week I switched out exhaust from a 3" TBE w/ Randon Tech Cat to a 3" TBE w/ Test Pipe. We only gained about 8-10hp through out the powerband on a Mustang Dyno. I might switch back since this new exhaust is so loud!

Also, you might want to have a look at the Perrin HFC. Its also a metal substrate cat. It is very similar in external appearance to the Random Tech unit. Kinda wondering if its not the same catalyst element. The nice things about the Perrin are that its a bit less expensive, the flanges are nicer, and it has an O2 bung.

I have the random cat also. It is nice. I have the older Buschur exhaust with the slip fit with the clamps. I hacked off the lip on one end of the cat, slid off the flange and put a new 3 in. clamp on it because there is a gap about 2 in. just large enough that it wasn't really possible to a flange on the mid pipe. I have a small leak where the bolts go in the clamp, but it is pretty minor. Just a heads up for people with the slip-fit Buschur exhaust.
