The PERFECT stage 1 Evo IX! Tuned by AL of Dynoflash

Yesterday, i took a 3.5 hour road trip over to ICS performance in CT.
And i had my car tuned by Al of Dynoflash.

My mods are in my sig.

Here is a link to my car's Dyno Plot.
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=295098

My car is the second car in the link.

Anyway...on to the review.

Al really went above and beyond in the tuning of my IX. He was really busy and had a lot of random things he had to get done at the shop but still took the time and energy to really make the car perfect.

Al started off by dyno tuning my car and the car made an impressive 340whp and 328wtq on 21 psi and pump 93 octane gas from mobil

Then Al took my car for a very long road tune and test drive, to perfect the tune for the street.

When Al returned with my car, the car was tuned on 21psi and it holds the full 21psi right around to 7200rpms where is slowly tapers off.

The car has ZERO knock, all the way to redline.

When i left it was night time and i had a 3.5 hour ride home from CT to NH, so i wasnt able to really go too crazy, in fear of getting a speeding ticket or being arrested in unfamiliar land, lol

But the times i did get on the gas, i couldnt stop smiling. I have a few friends with IX and VIII's and ive driven most of them and ive NEVER been in another evo stage 1 evo, that ran this strong and this smooth!

the car is so smooth it is unbelievable.

If anyone is considering a tune from AL of dynoflash, dont consider it anymore, just do it! GO!

Al has a unique personality, that sometimes can throw you for a loop, but he is a good guy and dedicated to his work and tunes your car to be safe and as fast as your car allows.

A lot of tuners, will just slap the car on the dyno, make big numbers and hand you the keys, irregardless of the fact that the car is knocking and running like ****.

Al doesnt do that, he tunes the car to be SAFE!

Yesterday when i went in for my tune, there was another guy there with a black IX GSR. He had intake, a BOV, a MBC, and a DP.

the car made like 317whp after the tune from AL.

The kid took the car for a ride and wasnt happy with it, despite the fact that the car was making more power than before and safely!

I have one thing to say about this. If you slap random parts on your car and crank the boost controller up, so that your car feels fast without a tune, all you're doing is making a $30k time bomb.

A lot of people think that a tune is, making the most power out of the car possible.
A tune is called a tune, because you are tuning the car so that it runs as safely and smoothly as it can, WHILE making the most power possible at that safe level.

If you have a stock IX, slap a MBC on it, set it to 24 psi, yes you are making more power, but it is by NO means safe! If the car feels the same or slower after you get tuned, it is because the car is now safe, where before you had a grenade with the pin removed!

anyway, back on topic. Thanks Al!

the car is perfect! A+ to AL!

A+ to the guys at ICS of stamford CT. The guys at ICS are all really cool guys and actually care what YOU want from your car and have the knowledge and experience to make it happen!

If anyone would like a ride in my IX MR SE, to feel this awesome tune, just shoot me a PM, i live around manchester NH.

thanks again to AL

Matt

p.s. this is my second car tuned by AL, both were great!

my car made a little bit higher power than the 340 on one pull with higher boost, but the car had too much knock

we went conservative at 21psi

Even Warrtalon will come in and tell you this is not feasible for a stock turbo.

Thumbs up Tapering

I always see ppl post in regards to taper, but I am on stock turbo and It holds 23psi in ALL 6 GEARS and I shift @ ~7200 in fact in 5th and 6th I hit 24psi at times.. am on stock turbo and WGA.. Is not a solid steady but it does not fall more than 1 psi at that..

So I find him holding 21psi till redline slowly tapering "feasible"..

Quick question who else does not taper on stock turbo..?? BTW if you wish to know how i control boost. I use a Greddy Profec-B II

Is the IX turbo not capable of it..?? Then what the hell do I got under the hood.. I mean i have lots of friends who taper and not taper at all.. so him and I are not the only ones.. the only time i remember tapering was when i was on the stock boost solenoid.. I swear I bought this car @ a dealership.. Hawaii's dealership in Oahu at that.. anyways congrats on the new found power and being satisfied is always important..
