60K & Service Engine Soon Light

My car just hit the 60K marker, so I know the 60K maintenance is in need. Does anyone know if this would make the light go on? What can I do to shut it off without having the code pulled?

Disconnect the negative battery cable and let it sit for 15 mins, that will reset the computer and the SES light will go off. But more then likely if its more then just a pending code it will pop back up . It easier to just go to advance auto parts and have them scan it for free.

Have the code scanned. You don't know why it came on.

Thanks for the reply guys. The light went out suddenly yesterday. I'm glad it did, but now unsure why it came on in the first place. O well!
