My review on AMS LICP & BR FMIC Combo
The AMS Lower IC Pipe & Buschur Racing FMIC (Standard Core) combination on my Evo IX is AWESOME.
First a Big Thank You goes out to “Dade County” of EvoM for a great all around transaction on the AMS LICP and another Big Thank You goes out to “Turfnsurf” of DSMtuners for handling the transaction with Buschur Racing on the BR FMIC!!!
The AMS Lower IC Pipe is a great 2-piece unit and it fits great!
NOTE: It is the older one with no mounting bracket. So, we had a bracket made fore it.
The Buschur Racing FMIC (Standard Core) is a great unit!!!
THE PRO’s
1. Does its Job and Does it WELL. “Superior Air Cooling and Flow”
2. Very well constructed. “Quality Materials Used”
3. Super TIGHT Fit. “I not sure you get one to fit better.”
4. Looks GREAT and really fills the open mouth of a IX beautifully.
THE CON’s
1. I found after having Perry from Ripp Modifications retune the car with the AMS Lower IC Pipe & Buschur Racing FMIC the drivability has greatly improved.
2. Smoother acceleration.
3. Boost comes on a bit quicker.
4. Surprisingly enough the gas economy has improved by about 1.5 MPG on regular daily driving.
My satisfaction rating on a scale from 1 to 10. (10 being most satisfied)
AMS Lower IC Pipe = “9”
Buschur Racing FMIC (Standard Core) = “9”
The Dyno Sheet…
NO!
Sorry, we are not posting it.
For me this modification was about adding stability to the power already being made and this combo has more then proven to do just that.
Let me conclude this post with…
Big Thanks & Mad Props to AMS, and especially to Buschur Racing for supplying the evolution community with quality performance parts.

THE CON’s
- The BR FMIC (Standard Core) upgrade may NOT require any trimming of the splash shield on the Evo VIII. But, This is surely NOT the case on the IX
- Surprisingly heavier then it looks.
