Japan?!? I swear you were on this side of the pond like a month ago. Mustangs, they aren't for dyno queens, but I love them

yep, I'd rather have a conservative dyno number any day over some trumped up glory number that'll make a fool out of you when it counts

Things change pretty quick. Hence why my evo 8 aka "betty" was sold for so cheap.

I love mustang dyno's... only fast cars come out of there... Say no to show and dyno queen's!!!!

Thumbs up niiiiiiice

That turbo header is beautiful. I love the turbo and your images. I have an evo 9 MR and currently have a 3" downpipe, high flow cat, titanium cat back exhaust, mass airflow senser adapter to a high flow filter, wahlbro 255 fuel pump, injen intercooler pipe kit (upper/lower) and am looking to purchase a high flow turbo outlet and a high flow header with some 750cc or higher injectors....

I got this evo a few months ago brand new... (9k miles on it now. yes i drive a lot. LoL) and am looking for 400 hp... (pretty much the power you have right now) for everyday driving pump gas... (93 octane)

I read through this thread and am wondering what my next steps should be. My car is not tuned at all. stock ecu, no flash. stock suspension and brakes still. (looking to get 2 piece front and rear roters to shave off weight, and also the Titec rs2000 springs to shave off even more, and also lower it a bit. which i dont know if they are good or not,) I also have a light weight battery and removed my spare wheel.

I didnt change the header / turbo outlet yet because I was hesitant to buy products that may not produce the 400 hp that I am looking for.

Is the stock turbo sufficient for what I am asking? or is that an impossibility? I've heard some say that it's only good for 400. but then i question it lasting at all. If i go bigger on the turbo... does it matter what turbo outlet / header i get?

I'm pretty new to this and have a good amount of $ to spend... (getting 4k for my old honda accord, its on my myspace link thats in my profile here, also pics of the evo are in there)

Im open to feedback, and would love to be better informed on this animal that i own.

I have also read through mellontuning's postings and really admire work like that. I'd like to tune my car through him. I'm even willing to pay people for advice LoL. I just don't want anything going wrong on this car. I don't know what i need to tune my car. I hear all of this laptop with cable stuff,, I'd like to get into it.. I just don't know what to get and where.

So to recap... 400hp? everyday driver? with some extra stopping/handling power?
Where do I go from here?

Any help would be GREEEEATLY appreciated! thanks guys....... off to reading some more posts!

The turbo starts spooling right at 3,400-3,500 as you can see from the video. The turbo is just fine for everyday driving in my opinion, but I have always been about high end power and not so much low end torque. Here is a video of the spool of this turbo on my car. As you can see, it is not bad at all for such a large turbo.

Yes, the ETS 61mm is a very sick turbo kit. I would highly recommend it for those people who want to go really fast, in a larger turbo fashion. As you can see, the kit is quite responsive in spool-up. ETS has done a job well done in the overall kit design to allow for minimal lag time on a 35r sized turbo.

Mirsad,

On the stock turbo, 400whp is only attainable with the assistance of race gas or some form of alchohol injection. If you are wanting to reach 400whp on pump gas you are definitely going to need a slighty larger turbo. ETS offers many forms of the 50trim turbo and the 57trim, seems to be the most popular at this point. It has a great power band which offers lots of area under the curve on pump gas alone. You will be able to achieve your goal with this setup. Tom, can go over all the details with you. As far as tuning, there are many options for you. If you want to go into more detail, just send me a pm. You will also need some injectors.
