My AMS 2.3 Stroker-Build Experience
I needed a new motor so I had my car towed to AMS. I decided to do a 2.3 stroker as the torque was very appealing vs the built 2.0. Darius was the one who worked with me on doing the build and giving suggestions on parts with specific numbers based on what I was going to be doin to and with the car in the future.
Once I decided on everything, they did the build. And I probably called and talked to Darius at least every other day to see how it was going. There were some issues in the build process that we got through but I was more than satisfied in the end as they took care of a lot of stuff for me to make up for any of my lost EVO time.
Along with the stroker I got the Race Head and S2 cams put in. Turned out the S2s were a little big for the stock ECU and Turbo. But of course AMS was there to offer me a few different, no cost, options once this was discovered. The other option was to dent my wallet even more with an AEM EMS . They tuned it to minimize the issue with idle and let me drive it to see if I was cool with it. I got infatuated with the cams so I did not want them out. No way man . Of course I drove otta there in my new 2.3stroker with race head and the S2 cams. I love the setup so far. It should take me a little while until I want more power. At least another week
So that is the thing. Parts fail sometimes. That is a known fact. AMS is the type of shop that backs up their work and their products. I am a very satisfied customer. I also got some cool AMS gear and stickers
Driving my Evo is so much more fun with 323whp and 328wtq
AMS rocks!!!!

I don't know if I would be happy with those numbers. Don't get me wrong. But I've seen 400tq and 360whp with 2.3 build.
Stock turby
All evos aren't created equal I guess

Wow my stock turbo 2.3L made 380 torque give or take ..
with my stock head and stock intercooler and a hf cat what gives .. I have 280 cams and that s about it..
you should have way more torque I think
Here's a DLL before and after my Alan678 tune:

The low numbers must be from the S2 cams. I had the same issue in an Evo making 365 hp, after the S2's were installed we lost about 30hp. This was on a stock turbo. Now with the GT35 installed, it's a totally different story. The S2's shouldn't be used with anything smaller than a GT35.
