Have anyone blown a stock turbo on an EVO IX???
Have anyone blown a stock evo 9 turbo from over boost? and what would be a safe high boost pressure. The highest I hit was at 29psi steady i think, it was when i was trying to adjust my greddy type s manual boost controller, and it was not on purpose. My car had been broken into before and they had stolen some stuff out of it including my boost controller. I bought the same bc and tried to set it with the same setting(24psi spike). Apparently, somehow it jumped all the way up to 29psi. I'm surrently spiking at 26psi with no problems, but 95% of the time I use 21psi. I'm wondering if it is safe spiking 26psi.

Hello I dont have any cams and upgrade inside engine. Just evc 6, exhau., ecutek, air filter basically, I also use 21 psi steady with a peak of 22.5 %95 of the time. I also use 26psi peak 23.5 steady, but that time egt is quickly going to 850 degrees (my limit) approx after 3-4 min of boost at authobahn / oil goes to 240 farhenait. But if I use 21 steady it never reach that limit. It is always around 750 degress max/oil 215 farheneit max. I am in rich state in the ecu map, I will change it nowadays but, I think If you want to find your safe presure take an egt and oil temp gauge with warning alarm, watch it yourself. I think the safest place is where the egt and oil temp reach max to %80 of your limit. Good luck m8.
