One quick note for those that may notice this: The doors are not OEM, they are AMS carbon doors which is why they look a little different where the fender and door meet

-2x2 weave
-cost for these are listed currently at $621/pair

They line is near perfect compared to the OE fender. That angle just looks a little funny with the AEM Door

The OEM fender is made out of aluminum so the weight savings between the two are not big. Last time I weighed both the difference was about an ounce or so (unpainted). As the article mentioned, we replaced ours to follow a theme that we created for the car. Weight savings are one benefit but it was more for looks then anything else.

Additionally, although not necessarily recommended, we trimmed the ip off ours to get a little extra clearance for our new 18x9.5 enkeis with Nitto race rubber, while maintaining the stock fender width. The fender is also stronger than the aluminum panel which can ding pretty easy. The primary advantage in the particular case however is appearance as mentioned which is a rare move for us on this car, but a nice completion to it.

this thread is a little misleading. So you're telling me the CF fenders are that much lighter than stock. i will BS on this. Also what's the point of getting fenders if they have the the same clearance was stock.l Better of going to with real stuff like voltex, garage HRS, and Robispec fenders. I will weight the fenders today when ig et to my shop.

You are not understanding why they installed these. Its not for more fender clearance for wider wheels. Its not to save weight. These were added to match the theme of the car towards its final build. Dont you see the paint job they did to it? Weight savings on these are slim to none but the ding resistance and WOW factor is another thing. Maybe they're just CF ******
