My Peakboost Experience

It's nice to know about how the kit showed up the first time, I did not feel like this was a negative review, more of a sharing of install experience. Why do the mods need to pop in when someone is telling it like it is.

honestly, i have never dealt with Ken at all... id like to in the future, but i havent yet.
my point about the mods was simple... normally threads like this get closed before they get started. This one hasnt. Maybe its because of the format you used. Either way, it seems as though the overall opinion is negative and you used this thread to voice those more so than anything else. Maybe it was an overall negative experience... i dont know. I read the thread, and that is my view. It seems as though Ken is willing to fix the issues you have as well as he'd like to verify your DP is installed correctly because a lot of stuff comes into play when installing kits like this and you could have one part turned ever so slightly in the wrong angle making it not fit somewhere else.

Personally, I like this kind of information.
I would like to see people make comments like this. He wasnt bashing peakboost, he just pointed out some flaws with the kit.
Flaws that should be known to the rest of us. If he had a problem, we should be aware of it. Especially ones that require fabrication that is out of the realm of many of us.
You want everything to go on between customer and vendor in some behind the scenes stuff where the rest of us cant see, it, fine, keep it in pm's. If you want to disclose it in a manner not involving personal attacks, I dont see any reason why it cant be discussed.
+1 for the review and the info on the kit. Does look damn good, but its nice to know its not a simple easy bolton.

I have spoke to ken on the phone in the past and he is a great guy. Glad to see that they back their stuff up unlike many of the other vendors around. Most people refuse to accept that maube they made a mistake. When and If i ever buy a full turbo kit it will be from peakboost for sure!

I have no reason to like or dislike peakboost, and they have struck me as a very value-oriented company with good pruduct from what i can tell via internet. I have no bias whatsoever regarding any Evo vendors or tuners.
However...
The welds on the inside of the piping in the second pic. They are sagging through, into the piping. I assume this is the inside of the intercooler piping? Service and fitment aside, how can poor welding quality as seen in the second pic be excused? If this could be photographed eaily by the customer, it could have and should have been caught by someone inspecting the kit prior to being sent out IMO. There has been no specific mention of this and I'm surprised at this. If I were a vendor and a picture of my piping looking like that were posted on the internet, I would make damn sure to make a public offer to take the piece back, shipped at my cost both ways, to at least have those welds cleaned up, if not that piece replaced entirely.
Just my neutral $.02...

thank you for your kind neutral comments.
but, the charge pipe issue was attended to by email well before this post and also in our above post.
I spoke with Josh today and offered that to reduce downtime, he keep this current pipe and once our new mandrel bent polished pipes are in stock, he will receive the first set as a full replacement.

I am glad and impressed to hear that. If he (the OP) is satisfied, then I have no reason to think any less of you for it than I ever have before. Mistakes and other factors happen with anything, it's just a matter of how well a company handles them. Your speedy, professional and courteous follow up says a lot about you and your company.

Me too!
I think that paying a couple of thousands dollars for a very good kit and having the issues are not acceptable.
However, if the vendor understands that was their mistake (a true one) and there is no additional costs for replacing the part. Then, IMO it is money well spent!
Then, for sure more clients will come for parts knowing that their satisfaction is guaranteed for "defective" parts!
+1 for Peak Boost for standing up behind their products!
To the OP, I understand that you are providing a review only on that kit but I hope that you followed the guidelines to provide a negative review:
IMHO. I would contact the vendor to resolve the issue for replacing the part with a 2-day or Next Day service at no cost both ways. If the vendor fulfills, then a positive review will be opened for sure. If not, then I would post a negative review for poor service.
Just my 0.02!

If you have a problem with a business and would like to make a negative review, you must first:
* Contact the business and express you complaint to try to resolve.
* If this fails and they are an EvoM vendor, contact me, and I will attempt to validate and mediate. Your thread will be removed if you skip this step.
* If all fails, follow the guidline below for how to make a negative review

I see both sides here, and they are understandable. customer is upset b/c he gets a kit and its not "perfect". It is gonna take some time to remedy the situation but it will get fixed. The problem here is that most ppl on this site are doin heavy modifications to the car, and most dont do the work themselves. Problems are gonna happen, and some custom work will have to be done. Thats just how the games is.
Putting a 3076 in a evo is a tight fit much less the 35r or some of the 40r's. Despite how hard the vendors try to make this stuff be "100% bolt on" it never is, and some ppl need to try to understand that. my cousin has a dc sport downpipe and hks catback. you have no idea how many dents are beat into the exhaust so it wont rattle and on an 04!!
