CBRD+My build = awesome
Hey everyone just thought id share my build up and what ive accomplished power wise so far.
first off this all started over the winter when my bro and i came together to make a badass ride. we figured we would focus on the engine first. we knew the stock engine was good for 500whp or so but we wanted to make it stronger since we still dont know what our goal will be for power. so we took the engine out bought some new parts and did the work ourselves. the only thing we didnt do was the honeing of the block and the ported and polished IM (thanks Buschur). we have never disasembled and engine, we come from the honda swapping days where u never realy took it apart u just put it right into another honda. so we both didnt know what to expect but we did it and it only took a month worth of long nights after work to get it out and back in. so enough of the boring stuff heres what we did so far.
the car and current mods:
2003 evo 8
Weisco 2.0 9.0.1 pistons
Manely I Beams
ARP headstuds and rod bolts
Stock Metal Head gasket
Buschur ported IM/Tb
10.5 hotside
BC 280's with single springs/retainers
Prostreet cam gears at 0/0
Walbro fuel pump
AEM meth kit 50-50
Hybrid Power 4in Intercooler kit
Apexi inake
ACT 6 Puck w stock flywheel
Shep Transfer case with REM ISF(still open diff for now)
Megan TBE
UR test Pipe
Ebay manifold and o2 housing
Turbo Smart MBC
Forge BOV
Aem Uego
Ams Mini battery kit
still with stock turbo/ wastegate/injectors/ecu.
so we took it to CBRD after we hit 6000 miles with no problems.
my meth kit controller wasnt working so we had to tune on just 93 pump gas.
we ended with 303hp and 307tq with afrs in the 11's at 24psi
after talking to aem they send me a new controller and after installing it, me and my bro headed back to CBRD to c what we could do.
with the stock wastegate limiting us to only 26.5 psi we managed 340hp and 345tq but since the afrs got into the 12's chad backed off a little and got it to 332hp and 342tq back into the 11's. so im happy and chad said its hard to make power on his dyno i guess its compared to buschurs dyno. so now we have to figure out where we wont to go as far as a turbo setup. hope these r good numbers cause i dont know anyone that i can compare it with?
I will try and get the video up soon.

Good numbers. Compare to mine in my sig. Chad's dyno defiantly is hard to mkae power on. My first tune with the TBE, 22psi and cone filter was 236whp. I was dissapointed until I've seen other peoples numbers on this dyno

our dyno reads dead on with BR's dyno....
the little 8 turbo didnt want to flow more than 27psi... we considered tightening the actuator, but i feel it would have just spiked the boost and still dropped to 18psi...
peak numbers were 352/356.... not bad for 82 degree heat...
cheers
