update...

i purchased a 54 gallon drum of q16 and will be running it in my drag car and the evo. i just placed an order at BR for a set of 1000cc injectors so once i get them i will be tunning it for the q16. im not making the switch to make more power, i just wanted to have a safer more reliable tune without meth. i may try doing water injection later on but for now im just going to be running straight q16. i was paying 10 dollars a gallon for the ms103 unleaded and 5 dollars a gallon for m1 meth, the price for the q16 is 13 dollars a gallon so the difference is very small. i think the little bit extra is well worth it in the long run. i wont be home till after xmas so hopefully i will have a ruff tune shortly after i get back and will post up the new numbers through out the tunning process. more to come soon....

ok so i was finally able to take the evo outta hibernation the other day. i was able to do a few pulls and get the tune ruffed in. i was hoping to be able to turn the boost up to 35psi but to my suprise my 1000cc injectors went up to 104% DC at only 31.6 psi. right now DLL shows 558hp and 433tq. i think she will take some more timing but i didnt want to push too much on the first outing. i really wanted to get to the 600hp mark at around 35psi but the single pump just aint cuttin it. i guess the next thing to get is a good 'ol double pumper. i also think the stock coils might be holding me back at the higher rpms. but the car is pullin pretty good so im happy for now. hope to tweak it a little more in the next few days then get to the track and try to snag that 10 sec pass.

sorry i havent updated in a while guys i didnt think many ppl were still even following this thread.

right now im making the switch back to meth inj but this time im going to try 50/50 mix with a m14 jet. i have also added a BR ported IM and a BR 65mm TB. on april 18th there is a dyno day at turbochargers.com follow by a braggin' rights at lone star motorsports park on the 19th. so im hoping to be able to make it there to give you guys some mustang dyno numbers. my act clutch is also on its way out so i am battling with the dreaded lock out so track times might not be useful but as long as the clutch doesnt start slipping the dyno numbers should show us how this turbo is doing. the fist few pulls i did after making the switch back the 93/meth the dll is showing 520whp and thats with afr's in the high 10's/low 11's and timing was very low (7@ peak TQ, 12 up top) at 29-30psi. i should have time to do a little more tuning today or tomorrow so i should have some more DLL figures soon.

I am proud to say that the turbo is still working like a champ. no shaft play at all and she has seen 30psi or above all her life so maybe turbonetics finally got this one right.

Hey guys, sorry for the thread revival but I'm looking at buying one of these turbos for my Supra 3.0L 2JZ-GTE hoping for 500hp at the wheels. Since the reveiw thread hasn't been updated in ages, is yours still going strong , or should I steer clear of the GT-K 550. I should only be running 20-30psi for my power levels. *

Thanks Again, Sam
